Dos inmigrantes han muerto intentando llegar a las costas Canarias en la primera embarcación irregular del año en las islas, que ha sido un cayuco con 71 ocupantes que arribó este 1 de enero por sus propios medios a la zona de Las Galletas (Tenerife). La llegada se produjo en torno a las 10.00 de la mañana de este miércoles, y el dispositivo sanitario asistió a un total de 71 personas , siendo necesario el traslado de dos de ellos hasta un centro hospitalario por diferentes patologías. Además, Salvamento Marítimo ha interceptado en la tarde de este miércoles dos cayucos -el segundo y el tercero del año en las islas Canarias- con unos 140 inmigrantes cuando navegaban en aguas situadas al sur de El Hierro. En el caso del primer cayuco en la isla, la Guardia Civil alertó sobre las 15.28 horas de un eco en el radar del SIVE que podría ser una embarcación irregular, por lo que se movilizó a la Salvamar Acrux, que la localizó a unas cuatro millas del muelle, donde se hizo el recuento oficial. Ya en tierra, los inmigrantes fueron atendidos por el dispositivo sanitario habitual en estos casos, que atendieron a un total de 70 personas , según han informado fuentes de los servicios de emergencias a pie de muelle. En cuanto al segundo cayuco, fueron los propios ocupantes de la embarcación irregular los que avisaron sobre las 15.10 horas de su posición a unas 44 millas al sur de La Restinga mediante una llamada telefónica. Así, el Centro de Salvamento Marítimo en Tenerife movilizó a la Salvamar Adhara, que avistó el cayuco a las 17.00 horas y rescató a sus 70 ocupantes subsaharianos .

Die Feuerwehr muss zu zahlreichen Einsätzen ausrücken.Die heftigen Sturmböen am Neujahrstag in Norddeutschland haben zu zahlreichen Feuerwehreinsätzen geführt. So musste die Feuerwehr Hamburg zu rund 40 Einsätzen ausrücken, teilte ein Sprecher mit. Meistens habe es sich um umgestürzte Bäume oder Äste, abgefallene Dachziegel oder Planen von Baustellen gehandelt. Verletzt wurde niemand. Auch in Schleswig-Holstein waren die Einsatzkräfte wegen Sturmschäden unterwegs. So musste die Feuerwehr in Kiel zu rund zehn Einsätzen ausrücken. Bei der Deutschen Bahn war es trotz des windigen Wetters relativ ruhig. Auf der Strecke zwischen Westerland auf Sylt und Hamburg-Altona fielen am Vormittag Züge aus, weil ein umgestürzter Baum die Gleise blockierte. Reisende mussten auf Busse und Taxen umsteigen und mit Verspätungen rechnen. Am Nachmittag musste die Strecke zwischen Ahrensburg und Hamburg-Rahlstedt wegen eines Schadens an der Oberleitung repariert werden.In Schleswig-Holstein und Hamburg, vor allem an der Nordseeküste, wurden schwere Sturmböen mit Geschwindigkeiten zwischen 80 und 100 Kilometern anfangs aus südwestlicher, später aus westlicher Richtung erwartet. In Hamburg traten Sturmböen mit Geschwindigkeiten zwischen 65 und 75 Kilometern pro Stunde aus südwestlicher Richtung auf. Am Abend sollte sich das Wetter laut Deutschen Wetterdienst wieder beruhigen und der Sturm abflauen.
