Snow warning is upgraded to amber for Britain: Met Office says 16in wintry showers and freezing rain could cause chaos this weekend with alerts in place for most of the UK

The Met Office has issued one amber snow warning for northern England from 9pm tomorrow to 11.59pm on Sunday; and another for the Midlands and Wales from 6pm tomorrow to 12pm on Sunday.
