The feud between the father and son duo of Rey and Dominik Mysterio has been one of the underlying storylines in WWE since the latter turned on the former and joined The Judgment Day a few years ago.
The rivalry bled into AAA’s Triplemania 34 as Dominik Mysterio was in Omos’ corner when the Nigerian giant took on Rey Mysterio in the main event of Night 1. Rey Mysterio had El Grande Americano by his side before facing Dominik in Night 2 for the AAA Mega Championship.

Dominik Mysterio made clear that he would want his father’s mask, name and an apology to end the feud with his father in an interview with OutKick Dropkick before Triplemania 34 started. Rey Mysterio responded to the demands in a subsequent chat.
« That’s pretty deep for him to say that, » Rey Mysterio said. « At the end of the day, I believe I have much more tricks up my sleeve than he does. If he thinks he’s going to step all over me, retire me, take my name and have me apologize to him for what apparently I have done, maybe I shouldn’t have helped him break into the business. Maybe he should have grinded on his own and scratched and clawed just like I did at the age of 14 when I first broke into the business, which was really tough back then. Now, it’s much easier to get into the business. It’s not like before.

Rey Mysterio has had his son’s number in the ring as the two have squared off a few times during the younger Mysterio’s career.
Dominik Mysterio may have gotten the last laugh on Friday night as he saw Omos beat his father to be reinstated on the AAA roster. Omos then put Rey Mysterio through the announcer table while the legendary Luchador was strapped to a backboard.
But Rey Mysterio returned the favor when he counted the pinfall for El Grande Americano in the AAA Mega Championship match against Dominik Mysterio.
