The Super Bowl will be Pat McAfee’d.
The former punter-turned-media mogul announced on Friday that he will have his own alternate cast of Super Bowl LXI in February through ESPN.
McAfee said he expects the broadcast to be similar to his « Field Pass » telecasts. He did so in the college football national championship earlier this year and is expected to do so again this coming January.

McAfee will have similar broadcasts for select « Monday Night Football » games this season, as well.
The news comes two days after the Walt Disney Company announced that Disney+ will stream ESPN’s and ABC’s broadcast of the big game. This will be the seventh consecutive year a Super Bowl will be available on a streaming service, beginning with Super Bowl LV.
McAfee has had an even bigger presence this year on ESPN, joining the « Monday Night Countdown » pregame show, in addition to his full-time role on « College GameDay. »

ESPN was awarded this season’s game in 2021 as part of the NFL’s new media rights deal that added the network to the existing rotation of Fox, CBS and NBC.
The Super Bowl will be Joe Buck’s and Troy Aikman’s return to the booth for the NFL’s championship after they last called the game in 2020 when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers for Fox.
The game will be played on Valentine’s Day.
