  • Flight passengers are warned things could get worse amid DHS shutdown, delays and callouts

As American airports and travelers continue to suffer the impacts of the DHS shutdown — and as TSA officers continue to go without paychecks — some European countries are warning those who would potentially visit the U.S.A.

The United Kingdom, for example, updated its foreign travel advice for those looking to travel to the U.S. — calling out the « travel disruption. »

Its advisory says, « There could be longer than usual queues at some U.S. airports due to a partial US government shutdown. »

TSA OFFICERS SKIP WORK AS PAYCHECKS STOP DURING SHUTDOWN, AIRPORTS FACE CHAOS NATIONWIDE

It goes on, « Check with your travel provider, departure airport or airline for the latest guidance. »

The delays are occurring because Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers are calling out from work after going unpaid for the third time in nearly six months.

There was a national callout rate of 10.19% on Sunday, a TSA spokesperson told Fox News Digital this week.

That’s the highest rate the agency has seen.

On Tuesday, the Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta cautioned travelers about delays in an X-post — and called out passengers for attempting to hack the system.

« We are seeing increased congestion at the International Terminal Checkpoint caused by domestic travelers attempting to bypass lines in the Domestic Terminal, » wrote airport officials.

« If you are flying domestically, please use the Domestic Security Checkpoints. At this time, wait times at the International Checkpoint are longer than those at the Domestic Terminal. »

Over the weekend, callouts spiked at major airports, with Houston reaching over 50% — while New Orleans and Atlanta airport callouts hit over 30%.

Callout rates have spiked nationwide, with the highest single-day airport callout rate reaching 55% at Houston Hobby International Airport on Friday.

In addition, 366 TSA officers have now quit during the shutdown.

It takes 4–6 months to train and certify officers — creating a critical staffing gap, Fox News Digital was told by a source familiar.

Travel expert Clint Henderson of The Points Guy website told Fox News Digital that as the shutdown drags on, flight passengers can expect the situation to only get worse.

« TSA workers are going without pay, and some are quitting. Others are having to pick up gig work to pay the bills, » said Henderson.

« A combination of weather issues at major airports across the country are making matters worse, » he added.

« Mornings seem to be the worst times. Be sure to keep an eye on local news sites and social media in case of long lines. Some airports update wait times on their homepages, though — so keep an eye on that. »

Flight passengers have the right to request a prompt refund if the airline cancels the flight, said Henderson, or if it is severely delayed and the passenger decides not to accept the alternative bookings.

« You are entitled to a prompt refund of your original payment method within 21 days, » he said.

« That also covers delays within the U.S. of more than three hours or six hours for international flights. »

  • Pro-life leader criticizes ‘insane’ UK bill that would decriminalize certain abortions up until birth

EXCLUSIVE: The leader of an international pro-life group is criticizing a bill being considered in the United Kingdom that would protect women from criminal liability for abortions up until birth.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, 40 Days for Life CEO Shawn Carney said British lawmakers are following efforts by Democrats in the U.S. in seeking to allow abortion in these instances, which he described as « absolutely absurd. »

« They haven’t really lobbied for this, » Carney said. « Typically, Europe is far more conservative on abortion than the United States. Most European countries regulate abortion to 12 weeks. England has 16. In some cases, they do late term, up to 24 weeks. But now they want abortion through all 40 weeks. And this just seems sort of out of nowhere. »

Carney said he fears this bill, if enacted into law, would « start an unfortunate trend throughout Europe. »

PRO-LIFE GROUP FINDS BIDEN-ERA FDA POLICY IS DRIVING 500 ABORTIONS PER DAY, SAYS TRUMP HAS POWER TO END IT

The Crime and Policing Bill includes a provision, Clause 208, that would remove criminal penalties for women in England and Wales who end their own pregnancy at any stage. The bill is now in its final stages in the House of Lords and is expected to receive a vote as early as Wednesday. If the House of Lords approves the clause, the bill would return to the House of Commons for any final changes before receiving Royal Assent to become law.

Under the provision, a woman can no longer be investigated, arrested or prosecuted for ending her own pregnancy at any gestation, even though the current standard legal threshold for most abortions in England and Wales is 24 weeks.

While women who terminate their pregnancies would be exempt from criminal liability, doctors and others who assist in an abortion after 24 weeks without medical necessity can still face prosecution.

As lawmakers consider Clause 208, several amendments have been offered, including removing it entirely, modifying it to exclude late-term abortions and adding an in-person requirement for medical consultations to end so-called « pills-by-post » services.

PUERTO RICO GOVERNOR SIGNS LAW RECOGNIZING UNBORN BABIES AS HUMAN BEINGS

Carney argued that the latter two amendments should still be unacceptable, stating that the clause appears to represent « a desire to kill. »

« I think it’s insane, » he said. « I know what they’re trying to do, but you need to combat the laws by saying we’re not aborting children at 40 weeks. The left built an entire movement on being able to survive outside the womb with viability. Then, as science and medicine progressed, viability changed because we could do a lot for unborn children. So they said at first it was 24 weeks, and then it was 22 weeks. Some say it’s 20 weeks. Others say it’s still 22 weeks. Nobody’s ever said it was 40 weeks. They’ve all said, of course, you can survive outside the womb. This is just a desire to kill, it seems, at 40 weeks. »

« I understand the idea of trying to make a legal compromise, » he continued. « But the compromise would be that you people have lost your minds. You want to abort a child the day before he or she is born. And it’s not medically necessary. The baby’s completely viable … so that’s how I think that you have to defeat these bills. »

Carney also said that « people don’t want to celebrate abortion » and « certainly don’t want to brag about how they can have an abortion up to 40 weeks, » adding that opponents of the U.K. bill are « missing common sense responses » to efforts to allow any abortion up until birth.

He added that while most people are not « monsters » seeking abortions at 40 weeks, removing legal liability for women at that point could make abortion more socially acceptable.

« I think what it does is it takes a little bit of a stigma away from abortions at 8, 10, 12, 16 weeks, because typically what we’ve seen in the U.S. is when you have states that say, hey, you’re going to have an abortion through all 40 weeks, what they do is say, well, okay, I’m not that bad. My abortion is not that bad because it’s only at 10 weeks, it’s only at 12 weeks, it’s only at 16 weeks, » Carney said.

« It’s not that you’re going to see a lot of abortions at 40 weeks. It’s the mentality that abortion is not a big deal. You can even do it the day before birth, and so it’s more acceptable to most people, » he continued.

« People aren’t monsters, » he added. « The monsters write these bills, which are typically very liberal White people who say, you know what, we need to be able to have an abortion the day before your birthday. And most people look around at a party and say that person’s clinically insane. »

The left « has just married themselves to this, » Carney said.

« They believe you need unfettered abortion at all times in order to be a free and just society, » Carney said. « But nobody’s actually really medically needing that whatsoever. »

  • Dem congressional candidate Bobby Pulido depicts lewd behavior in controversial music video for his song

Latin Grammy-winning singer Bobby Pulido, now the Democratic nominee in Texas’ 15th Congressional District, appeared in a controversial music video depicting lewd behavior.

In a 2010 music video for his song « Dias de Ayer, » Pulido portrayed a character wrapped in a red blanket engaging in indecent acts and appearing to expose himself to a woman seated next to him on a plane.

According to the New York Post, Pulido faced questions from the Mexican press about his sexuality following the release of the video.

« People are opening up more. I can even tell you that when I started my career, I saw the whole situation (of gays) very differently. At first, they said I was gay; there were rumors that I was like that, » Pulido said in a 2010 interview with the outlet El Norte, translated from Spanish.

Pulido responded to comments about sexuality in several posts, including a 2019 post on his personal X account: « Igualmente amigo, no homo. »

In a 2015 post, Pulido taunted pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli, who later served a seven-year prison sentence, writing, « Don’t drop the soap a–hole. »

After announcing his campaign last fall, Pulido faced scrutiny over resurfaced posts linking to explicit websites on his personal X account, as well as a post that appeared to show him urinating on President Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

The Democratic nominee also drew backlash over past vulgar attacks against Trump, including posting the Spanish translation of « f— your mother. »

« I’d like to give you the biggest ‘f— you,’ you piece of s—, a–hole, d— head, son of a b—-, » Pulido wrote in another post.

Pulido also drew attention after previously describing himself as a « winter Texan » for spending much of the year in Mexico.

Pulido is vying for the seat currently held by Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, a two-term incumbent.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Pulido for comment.

  • Dems unmoved as White House reveals DHS concessions in shutdown battle

The White House is digging in against congressional Democrats, revealing several compromises the administration has been willing to make on immigration enforcement in order to end the government shutdown.

In a letter from a White House official obtained by Fox News Digital, the administration laid out five key concessions to congressional Democrats, who have continued to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in a bid to get stringent reforms to immigration operations.

It’s the first peek behind the closely guarded veil of the funding stalemate and comes after congressional Democrats broke the ice with yet another counteroffer to the White House late Monday night, which the administration balked at as the shutdown entered its 32nd day.

FIRED DHS CHIEF KRISTI NOEM FACES CRIMINAL REFERRAL FROM CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS

« The Democrats have once again responded with a counteroffer that does not indicate the seriousness that this moment needs, » a senior White House official said.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., countered that the White House wasn’t negotiating seriously, either.

« The issue is, they’re not getting serious, » Schumer said. « The key issues of warrants when you bust into someone’s house, the key issue of identity of police and no masks, they haven’t budged on those. »

The letter, sent to Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Katie Britt, R-Ala., included compromises on several demands that have been a top priority for Schumer and Democrats, but notably lacked requirements for agents to obtain judicial warrants and demands that agents go maskless.

« The use of administrative warrants is a long-standing practice for administrations, and ultimately that will be a subject of future conversations, but the administration is unwilling to return to the Biden status quo of open borders, » the official said.

DEM SENATORS CALL TO FUND DHS AFTER VOTING TO BLOCK IT 4 TIMES AMID SHUTDOWN FIGHT

Still, the letter did check off several asks for Democrats, including expanding the use of body-worn cameras for DHS agents, save for agents in undercover operations, coupled with plans to hold onto the footage to allow for more congressional oversight.

The Trump administration also offered to limit immigration enforcement at sensitive locations, including hospitals and schools, with exceptions to national security, flight risks, and public safety. The administration also plans to adhere to congressional oversight of DHS detention facilities, and vowed to enforce the use of visible identification for DHS agents.

Another compromise was to ensure that any U.S. citizens are not deported, and plans to codify not « knowingly detaining a U.S. citizen, except when the person violates a state or federal law that makes the citizen subject to arrest. »

Democrats’ counter did little to move the needle for Republicans, too.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., characterized the White House’s compromises as going « above and beyond, » and noted that the administration had made offers to plus up spending on body-worn cameras to $100 million and « include audits by the Inspector General, you know, and reviews for non-compliance. »

KATIE BRITT BLASTS DEMOCRAT FOR PLAYING ‘POLITICAL GAMES’ WITH SHUTDOWN AMID AIRPORT CHAOS

« I mean, there’s a whole bunch of stuff in there that they’re just things that, in my view, have been significant gives on the part of the White House, but the Democrats seem intent on dragging out this political issue, » Thune said.

And Britt, who Thune tapped to lead negotiations on behalf of the GOP, said she was still trying to get Democrats in a room to negotiate.

Britt told Fox News Digital that she believed « that there are many of my Democratic colleagues » that wanted to find a way out of the shutdown, too, and noted that during the 43-day shutdown there had been talks happening the whole time.

« I mean, it’s past time for us to do that, and so I’m going to keep pushing it, » she said. « But do you realize that, how many days into this — and we have yet to sit down and talk about it — I mean it’s actual insanity. »

  • Man claiming CIA ties allegedly tries to slit commuter’s throat in unprovoked train attack

An Illinois man is behind bars after authorities say he attempted to slash a commuter’s throat while claiming he was a CIA agent.

Zakir Ibrahim, 25, is charged with attempted murder after he was arrested in Chicago on Tuesday, March 3, according to CWB Chicago.

Authorities allege Ibrahim approached an Amtrak passenger at the city’s Union Station and held a knife to the victim’s nose before slashing at his throat, the outlet reported.

In a detention filing obtained by the outlet, prosecutors said Ibrahim held a knife to the victim’s face, took a step back and began trying to slash the victim’s throat, « only narrowly missing the victim’s throat by less than an inch. »

The victim narrowly escaped the alleged attack and « had to lean back to avoid his throat being cut, » the petition reportedly said.

Ibrahim allegedly claimed to be a CIA agent and said he believed the victim was a hitman, causing him to attack the train passenger, the outlet reported.

  • Nancy Guthrie update: Retired K9 officer says decision not to use cadaver dogs ‘defies logic’

A retired K9 officer is raising questions about the public handling of the Nancy Guthrie case, arguing that the decision not to deploy cadaver dogs « defies logic » as the investigation stretches into its seventh week with few answers.

« We’re just chasing shadows, » said Michael Gould, a former K9 investigator with the NYPD and Nassau County Police Department.

Still, he told Fox News Digital that it’s very likely investigators are following up on leads behind closed doors and may be farther along than observers think.

« Cadaver dogs, [or] human remains detection dogs, they are the primary technology available to humans to detect odor of people missing, » he said Tuesday. « They’re considered in court a scientific instrument. So why the sheriff chose not to use them, I don’t understand.«

NANCY GUTHRIE NEIGHBORS’ RING CAMERA CAPTURES VEHICLES ON POSSIBLE ROUTE FROM CRIME SCENE

Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of « Today » host Savannah Guthrie, is believed to have been abducted from her home in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills neighborhood against her will in the early hours of Feb. 1, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, like many local law enforcement agencies around the country, does not have its own cadaver dogs. They borrowed K9s from the local Border Patrol office earlier in the case but are no longer deploying them as part of the investigation.

« There’s only two assumptions, two implications there, that A, she’s still alive, that’s one implication, or B, they’ve given up searching for her, » Gould said.

METAL DETECTOR SCANS FRONT YARD OF SAVANNAH GUTHRIE’S MISSING MOTHER AS SISTER TO GET CAR BACK

He called on the sheriff to either deploy them in a pattern search or explain why that’s not happening.

« I stretch my head to think, without him guiding us, giving us answers to this, I can’t think of any other rationale why you would say we’re putting cadaver dogs on hold, » Gould said. « It defies logic. »

Nanos, for his part, told Fox News Digital earlier that if he deemed they were needed, he’d send them back out. He declined to discuss specific leads or evidence.

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE’S MOTHER NANCY MISSING OVER A MONTH, $1M REWARD REMAINS UNCLAIMED

« Anything is possible, » he said when asked if he believed Guthrie is still alive.

However, with the investigation dragging on for more than 40 days, Gould said the case does not fit the profile of an abduction.

« After six weeks, without proof of life, without anything else, the family has come to terms with the fact, I think, that this is a homicide investigation, and it’s got to be treated like that, » he said.

NANCY GUTHRIE MISSING: FORENSIC SCIENTIST ENCOURAGES NEW INVESTIGATIVE APPROACH SINCE CASE ‘ISN’T COLD YET’

In a heartbreaking Instagram video posted last month, Savannah Guthrie thanked millions of supporters for their prayers and acknowledged that her mother may no longer be alive.

The elder Guthrie’s pacemaker last synced with her Apple devices around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 1. There was a light trail of blood outside of her front door, which authorities later said belonged to her. And nothing significant had been stolen.

Authorities issued a silver alert, describing Guthrie as a vulnerable adult whose life depends on prescription medication and who has mobility issues that could have prevented her from traveling far on foot.

He is described as standing around 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He remained unidentified as of Tuesday morning.

Two men were briefly detained as separate warrants were being served in connection with the case. Both were released without charges. The most recent was on Feb. 13 after the FBI towed his Range Rover from a Culver’s parking lot and raided his mother’s home, which is about 2 miles from Guthrie’s.

« It was considered a kidnapping so they were investigating as a life and death situation — that’s why they executed a lot of search warrants that people questioned the legitimacy of the search warrant, » Gould said. « But if you’re thinking of the fact that somebody might still be alive and being held hostage, it’s different than a homicide investigation. »

Since then, updates have slowed to a trickle. But a task force of Pima County homicide detectives and FBI agents remains on the investigation.

  • Trump warns he won’t endorse lawmakers who oppose Save America Act

President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that he will not endorse any lawmaker who votes against the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act, escalating pressure on Republicans as the bill heads to the Senate.

Trump made the pledge in a Truth Social post Tuesday morning, warning that any Republican or Democrat who opposes the measure would face political consequences.

« The Save America Act is one of the most IMPORTANT & CONSEQUENTIAL pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, and America itself, » Trump wrote.

« I WILL NEVER (EVER!) ENDORSE ANYONE WHO VOTES AGAINST ‘SAVE AMERICA!!!’ »

GOP WARNS DEMOCRATS USING DHS SHUTDOWN TO STALL SENATE VOTER ID PUSH

Trump has long pushed for stricter election laws — making election integrity a central pillar of his 2024 campaign — and has repeatedly questioned the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to former President Joe Biden.

The SAVE Act would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and impose stricter voter ID rules.

Trump said the bill also touches on issues including mail-in voting, transgender athletes and medical care for minors.

« No Men in Women’s Sports, No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our Children. 90% to 99% ISSUES ALL! Only sick, demented, or deranged people in the House or Senate could vote against THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. If they do, each one of these points, separately, will be used against the user in his/her political campaign for office – A guaranteed loss. »

The GOP-led House passed the bill in February, largely along party lines.

Trump and his allies argue the legislation would prevent noncitizens from voting and strengthen election security, while critics say it could disenfranchise eligible voters who lack documentation.

SCHUMER SAYS DEMS WILL FIGHT VOTER ID PUSH ‘TOOTH AND NAIL,’ BALKS AT DHS ROLE IN ELECTIONS

The bill now faces steep odds in the Senate, where it would need 60 votes to overcome a filibuster — a threshold Republicans do not currently have given their 53–47 majority.

Some conservatives have pushed to force a « talking filibuster » or change Senate rules to bypass that threshold and pass the bill with a simple majority, but GOP leaders have said they lack the votes within their own conference to take that step.

Senate Majority Leader John ThuneJohn Thune has indicated the votes are not there to pass the measure, and most Democrats are expected to oppose it.

« It’s about the math, » Thune said. « And I’m, for better or worse, the one who has to be a clear-eyed realist about what we can achieve here. »

Republicans are expected to force a vote to put Democrats on record opposing the bill, but the measure faces steep odds of clearing the Senate’s 60-vote threshold.

Cracks have also emerged within the GOPwithin the GOP.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., a supporter of the bill, acknowledged Republicans « don’t have the votes for the talking filibuster right now » while Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., has opposed the legislation and said he plans to « do everything I can to prevent it from even moving forward. » Tillis has objected to the bill’s scope, arguing it goes beyond voter ID and warning against imposing sweeping federal mandates on states.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has also come out against the bill, warning that new federal mandates could disrupt state election systems.

The internal divisions come as Trump ramps up pressure on lawmakers, urging voters to contact their senators and back the legislation, which he has described as one of the most consequential bills in U.S. history.

Fox News’ Alex Miller and Elizabeth Elkind contributed to this report.

  • Republican senators blast Democrats for ‘fear-mongering’ over election security SAVE Act

Republican senators are blasting Democrats as the Senate prepares to take up the SAVE Act this week, accusing them of « fear-mongering » and standing in the way of what they argue are common-sense election safeguards.

« This is paranoid fantasy, mingled with fear-mongering, and we can’t allow the Democrats to continue to weave this false narrative, » Utah Sen. Mike Lee told « The Ingraham Angle. »

Lee’s comments came in response to questions about Democratic claims that the legislation could lead to eligible voters being improperly removed from voter rolls.

SCHUMER DOUBLES DOWN ON GOP VOTING BILL ‘JIM CROW 2.0’ DESPITE DEMOCRATIC VOTER SUPPORT

« These [claims] are about as trustworthy as Chuck Schumer’s cheeseburgers, and we’ve got to identify them as such, » he said.

Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt accused Democrats of wanting to « cheat » Monday on « Hannity, » arguing they are blocking straightforward, « common-sense » election measures like voter ID requirements and proof of citizenship.

SENATE GOP EYES BLAME GAME AS TRUMP-BACKED SAVE ACT HEADS FOR DEFEAT

« Whether it’s Trump derangement syndrome or the left has totally captured the Democrat Party, they’re wrong on this, » Schmitt said. « I think it’s a very important week for us in the Senate. »

He added that the legislation, a priority for President Donald Trump, is critical to « secure our elections and protect our kids, » referring to efforts to tie-in a handful of social issues Republicans prioritize, including banning transgender treatments for minors and cracking down on transgender athletes in sports.

« When President Trump gave his really memorable and stirring second inaugural address, he talked about a return of common sense, and that’s really what this is about, » Schmitt said.

    « [These are] 80/20… 90/10 issues. »

Trump has threatened to withhold his signature on all other legislation until the SAVE Act is passed.

  • Specific amount of nightly sleep may lower diabetes risk, researchers find

Getting a certain amount of sleep could help ward off diabetes, a new study suggests.

A team of Chinese researchers studied how sleep duration on weekdays is associated with insulin resistance, a key risk factor for type 2 diabetes. The long-term observational study, held from 2009 to 2023, included about 25,000 participants.

The « sweet spot » for low insulin resistance was about seven hours and 18 minutes of sleep per night, found the research, which was published in BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care.

ANCIENT HERB KNOWN AS ‘NATURE’S VALIUM’ TOUTED FOR IMPROVING SLEEP AND ANXIETY

Large deviations from this benchmark — either too much or too little sleep — were associated with worse insulin sensitivity. Shorter sleep was linked with higher insulin resistance, while longer sleep had worse metabolic markers.

Getting extra « catch-up » sleep on the weekends did not make up for deficits during the week, the study found, as excessive sleep showed a risk of worsening glucose metabolism in some participants.

« These correlational findings suggest that sleep patterns, particularly weekend recovery sleep, may be relevant for metabolic regulation in diabetes and could inform considerations for healthcare professionals in managing patient care, » the researchers concluded in the study.

As this was an observational study, the findings show associations rather than cause and effect, they noted. Sleep duration was also self-reported, which could pose a limitation.

The study did not measure sleep quality, which could play a role in outcomes. Other lifestyle factors, like diet, stress and shift work, could influence results as well.

Fox News Digital reached out to the study authors for comment.

Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel said the study produced « useful information. »

« We have long known that there is an association between sleep and insulin resistance, » Siegel, who was not involved in the research, told Fox News Digital. « This is because the restorative aspect of sleep helps to regulate metabolic function and hormones, and also decrease inflammation. »

« But as this study shows, both too much and too little sleep may lead to more insulin resistance (and diabetes) via metabolic dysregulation, » he added.

Dr. Aaron Pinkhasov, a board-certified psychiatrist and chair of the department of psychiatry at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine, said the concept of sleeping a certain number of hours to prevent diabetes is « too simplistic. »

TEST YOURSELF WITH OUR LATEST LIFESTYLE QUIZ

« Sleep is only one part of metabolic health, along with genetics, body weight, diet, physical activity and stress, » the sleep expert, who also wasn’t part of the study, told Fox News Digital.

« The study provides only a snapshot in time, so it cannot prove that sleep duration actually causes insulin resistance, » he went on. « It is also possible that underlying problems — such as metabolic illness, pain, depression or low activity — lead people to sleep longer or shorter. »

The « practical message » for adults, according to Pinkhasov, is to aim for about seven to nine hours of quality sleep on a regular schedule, as part of an « overall strategy to reduce diabetes risk. »

« The study strengthens the idea that sleep should be considered as important as diet and exercise when discussing diabetes risk, » he added. « The key message is not the exact number of hours, but that both chronic sleep deprivation and irregular sleep patterns are associated with higher insulin resistance. »

  • Why Trump is denouncing the media’s Iran war coverage as too negative – boosted by rhetorical FCC backing

The U.S. military has devastated Iran and all but destroyed its military effectiveness. Period. Full stop.

Everyone recognizes this, and the coverage reflects it.

And yet President Donald Trump is accusing many in the media of wanting America to lose the war, and his FCC chairman is talking about networks losing their licenses.

There’s no question that journalistic credibility has plummeted in the Trump era, and the president has used lawsuits and other tactics to pressure news organizations.

US ‘LOCKED AND LOADED’ TO DESTROY IRAN’S ‘CROWN JEWEL’ ‘IF WE WANT,’ TRUMP WARNS

At the same time, journalists have an obligation to ask about the latest developments in a war that has divided the MAGA media movement, given the sharp contrast between Trump’s past rhetoric against entanglement in foreign wars and his decision to attack Iran and wipe out its nuclear weapons program.

It’s hardly a shock, but the president has been combative with those asking the questions, as if he resents any challenge to the official narrative.

Some reporters have focused on the blockade of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran is using to retaliate against the U.S. and Israeli attacks. Oil prices have soared, though they have dipped below the $100-plus per barrel level, and the response from American allies asked to help police the narrow passageway has been tepid. These are facts.

TRUMP SUDDENLY SEEMS ANXIOUS TO END THE WAR AS AMERICAN CASUALTIES MOUNT AND IRAN FINDS WAYS TO HIT BACK

On Sunday, when an unidentified reporter on Air Force One asked why he was « sending 5,000 Marines and sailors » to the Middle East, Trump said « you’re a very obnoxious person » and moved on without answering.

During the same in-flight session, the president was asked about a fundraising letter that has drawn criticism for featuring the « dignified return » of six fallen American soldiers in Delaware – a solemn occasion generally seen as above politics.

When the woman identified herself as being from ABC News, Trump called the network « one of the worst, most fake, most corrupt. »

« Will you comment on the dead soldiers? » she persisted.

Trump: « ABC News, I think it’s maybe the most corrupt news organizations on the planet. I think they’re terrible. » After a third attempt, he said, « Okay, I don’t want any more from ABC. »

I wasn’t there, so I don’t know the tone. Perhaps they should have provided more context – your critics say such-and-such – but Trump, rightly or wrongly, heard it as sharp personal criticism. And that led to this online escalation against the « Radical Leftwing Press, » with even mentioning the loaded word « TREASON »:

« The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal (in particular), and other Lowlife ‘Papers’ and Media actually want us to lose the War. Their terrible reporting is the exact opposite of the actual facts! They are truly sick and demented people that have no idea the damage they cause the United States of America. »

And yet none of the questions or reports are remotely out of bounds, especially in a time of war.

THE WAR HITS HOME: WHY FINANCIAL PAIN AND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY THREATEN TRUMP’S DRIVE TO TOPPLE IRAN’S REGIME

Some headlines, for instance, have emphasized the difficulties in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump himself yesterday said at a lengthy presser, called to discuss the two-year closing of the Kennedy Center, that some allies are not « enthusiastic » about helping, and some such as Britain have refused to help at all.

« I think it’s terrible, » the president said, adding that he has long felt that America spends endless billions to protect NATO but that he long suspected there would be no reciprocation if needed.

That, in turn, underscores why Hormuz has been a legitimate subject for coverage.

One CNN report, with four journalists contributing, said: « Top Trump officials acknowledged to lawmakers during recent classified briefings that they did not plan for the possibility of Iran closing the strait in response to strikes, according to three sources familiar with the closed-door session. »

Sorry, it’s hard to imagine there was no planning at all, but CNN stands by its reporting.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth, a former co-host of « Fox & Friends Weekend, » has unloaded on the coverage.

« Some in this crew, in the press, just can’t stop. Allow me to make a few suggestions. People look up at the TV and they see banners. They see headlines. I used to be in that business. And I know that everything is written intentionally. »

« For example, a banner or a headline, ‘Mideast War Intensifies,’ splashing on the screen the last couple of days, alongside visuals of civilian or energy targets that Iran has because that’s what they do. »

« What should the banner read instead? How about ‘Iran increasingly desperate’ Because they are. They know it, and so do you, if it can be admitted. »

HEGSETH SCOLDS CNN’S ‘UNSERIOUS’ REPORT ON IRAN CONFLICT, SUGGESTS PARAMOUNT OWNER SHOULD OVERHAUL NETWORK

In his choice of words, Hegseth, a veteran and conservative commentator, suggests that he doesn’t merely want straight-news headlines but blatant support for the war effort. With Israel attacking Iran’s proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon and Tehran hitting the U.S. embassy in Baghdad – without casualties – what could possibly be wrong with « Mideast War Intensifies »?

Hegseth also slammed « more fake news from CNN. ‘Reports that the Trump administration underestimated the Iran War’s impact on the Strait of Hormuz.’

« Patently ridiculous, of course. For decades, Iran has threatened shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. This is always what they do, hold the strait hostage. CNN doesn’t think we thought of that. It’s a fundamentally unserious report. »

The secretary then said the quiet part out loud. CNN, part of Warner Bros. Discovery, is on track to be taken over by Paramount Skydance, the current owners of CBS, where Bari Weiss is editor-in-chief. The outlet is owned by billionaire Larry Ellison and his son David, who the president yesterday called « great. » They have said they want a more balanced approach to news that appeals to both center-right and center-left audiences.

Hegseth said « the sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better. »

Maybe he didn’t intend it that way, but it sounds like the Pentagon chief expects the new CBS to be in a cheerleading role.

And now there are the comments at the FCC.

TRUMP ‘THRILLED’ AS FCC CHAIR WARNS NEWS ORGANIZATIONS TO CORRECT COURSE OR LOSE LICENSES

Trump said on Truth Social yesterday he is « so thrilled to see Brendan Carr, the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), looking at the licenses of some of these Corrupt and Highly Unpatriotic ‘News’ Organizations. »

Carr said on X that « broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions —also known as the fake news — have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up. The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not. »

The chairman said changing course would be a smart business decision, since « trust in legacy media has now fallen to an all time low. » That part is undoubtedly true.

I don’t think we’ll see any broadcast stations lose their licenses, since that’s where these extraordinarily rare actions would be carried out, not at the network level.

Carr’s detractors swung into action, with Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren saying it was « constitutional law 101 » and « illegal for the government to censor free speech it just doesn’t like about Trump’s Iran war. This threat is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. » Democratic FCC commissioner Anna Gomez warned on MS NOW of a « chilling effect. »

There’s a reason this hasn’t happened in more than half a century. In 1969, the commission revoked the license of Jackson, Miss. station WLBT for airing racist programming and refusing to allow civil-rights viewpoints. That’s how rare it is.

But Carr has a knack for boosting pressure on a network or station to act on its own by raising the specter of a revoked license, like citing a nuclear weapon hidden in the basement. He did that in the uproar over remarks by Jimmy Kimmel that prompted Disney/ABC to take him off the air, although the backlash turned that into a week’s suspension.

Presidents generally don’t like coverage of their military operations. You think LBJ enjoyed hearing Walter Cronkite return from Saigon to say we were losing the war? Richard Nixon argued the nightly combat footage on TV was turning Americans against the war, and his allies encouraged license challenges to CBS, NBC and ABC stations, though these efforts failed.

SUBSCRIBE TO HOWIE’S MEDIA BUZZMETER PODCAST, A RIFF ON THE DAY’S HOTTEST STORIES

Journalists today need to keep raising pressing issues about how the Iran war is faring, though that clearly displeases the president.

By taking numerous questions yesterday – and acknowledging that he doesn’t know what Iranian leaders he’s even negotiating with after the first airstrikes – Trump defused some of the tensions.

But as we have seen in wars from Vietnam and Iraq, the press serves as an early-warning system when missions are not so easily accomplished.

  • Minnesota bill would ban warrants allowing police to collect data from devices near a crime scene

A bipartisan group of Minnesota lawmakers has proposed a bill seeking to ban warrants allowing law enforcement to gather data revealing which cellphones and other devices that were near a crime scene at a specific time.

Democrat state Sen. Erin Maye Quade introduced a Senate bill to ban those warrants in most cases, with Sens. Omar Fateh, also a Democrat, and Eric Lucero, a Republican, joining as original sponsors.

The bill would also allow anyone whose information was obtained during the search to sue law enforcement.

Lawmakers argue the warrants should be prohibited except in emergency situations. They said reverse location warrants, sometimes called « geofence » or « dragnet » warrants, are too broad and violate Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable searches and seizures.

YOUR PHONE IS NOW A CRIME SCENE IN YOUR POCKET

Critics of the warrants say authorities can gather data on thousands of people near a particular area, including those who attended an event that could be of interest to law enforcement, such as a protest.

« We do believe that we have to balance our constitutional rights and public safety so that we’re not essentially sending law enforcement in to search for a needle in a haystack by exponentially increasing the size of the haystack, » Maye Quade said during a hearing on March 9.

Law enforcement groups, including the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, contend that the bill is too broad, although both have suggested a willingness to negotiate with lawmakers about data privacy concerns.

« We recognize and share the Legislature’s commitment to protecting individual privacy and civil liberties. However, as drafted, this bill would impose an outright prohibition on investigative tools that are lawful, court-supervised, and, in many cases, critical to solving serious crimes and protecting public safety, » the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association said in a letter to lawmakers.

Senate lawmakers first discussed the bill in the Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Committee on March 9. House lawmakers discussed a companion bill, originally proposed by Rep. Sandra Feist, a Democrat, in the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee on Feb. 24.

This comes amid an ongoing case at the national level, in which the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in April on the constitutionality of reverse location warrants.

Between 2018 and 2020, the number of reverse location warrants in Minnesota jumped from 22 to 173.

In 2023, Google said it would stop storing location data in a way that would make it susceptible to reverse location warrant requests. By July of last year, the company said all location history data previously stored on its servers had been wiped or moved to on-device storage.

But groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union and Electronic Frontier Foundation have raised concerns about whether that change is enough.

The warrants appear to still be used in Minnesota, as law enforcement groups argue they play a key role in solving investigations.

Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Superintendent Drew Evans said a ban on those warrants « would have a major detrimental effect on public safety in Minnesota. »

« There are numerous examples of case investigations where reverse location data has saved lives, even just recently, » Evans said in a letter to lawmakers, although he added that he supports « reasonable safeguards for data privacy protections » and would be « more than willing to collaborate on possible solutions to implement more safeguards while still preserving such an important technological tool. »

As written, the Senate bill would prohibit warrants to collect information on devices that searched for a specific keyword, phrase or website. It would also ban similar collection of GPS coordinates, cell tower and Wi-Fi connectivity data.

GRASSLEY: BIDEN DOJ BYPASSED CONSTITUTIONAL SAFEGUARDS BY SUBPOENAING SENATOR PHONE RECORDS

Lucero said during the March 9 hearing that the bill should not be viewed as anti-law enforcement, arguing it promotes pro-constitutional principles.

« We simply want to make sure that those time-tested principles are protected in the new digital realm, » Lucero said.

Lucero referenced the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures unless a warrant specifies a particular place and the person or thing to be seized.

« Reverse search warrants are the antithesis of that, » he said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

  • Jasmine Crockett defends her security guard who was killed in police standoff, wanted for impersonating cop

The man who worked security for Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, but was killed in a standoff with SWAT last week was accused of impersonating a police officer and other offenses, although the congresswoman is defending him, saying his criminal history does not include any violent offenses.

The suspect, who was identified as Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, 39, was shot and killed by Dallas Police SWAT officers on Wednesday. He had barricaded himself inside a vehicle in the garage of a children’s hospital after Dallas Police officers tracked him while investigating an active warrant.

Police deployed tear gas to force him out before the suspect exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at officers, leading officers to shoot him. The suspect did not fire his gun, and no officers were injured.

Dash camera footage of the incident at Children’s Medical Center Dallas was released on Monday.

JASMINE CROCKETT’S ALLEGED SECURITY GUARD KILLED IN STANDOFF WITH DALLAS SWAT TEAM: REPORTS

He was wanted for impersonating a law enforcement officer and had claimed to be one while recruiting for his business that placed off-duty officers in security jobs.

Robinson was driving a replica undercover car with stolen U.S. government plates, often wore fake police uniforms pretending he was a federal agent and created a fraudulent business where he used fake identifying information to hire legitimate police officers for off-duty jobs. Dallas Police also said 11 firearms were recovered during their investigation, including the handgun he was holding during the shooting, which was reported stolen.

He was also not using his real name, going by the alias « Mike King. »

« The agencies that he reported to work for do not exist. So dignitaries, basically special dignitary police, that agency does not exist within the federal government. So that’s who he portrayed to be. There was no actual federal agency that he worked for that existed. He was very good at hiding his true identity … He had been living like this for many years, » Dallas Deputy Police Chief William Griffith said on Monday.

Robinson has a lengthy criminal history, with arrests going back as far as 2010. He has been charged with offenses such as theft and violating probation.

Crockett came to the defense of her former security guard, releasing a statement on Monday saying her office was unable to find any violent offenses in his « limited criminal history. »

« We are saddened and shocked by some of the concerning revelations. Our team followed all protocols outlined by the House to contract additional security. We were approved to use this vendor who also provided security services for additional entities in the local community and worked closely with law enforcement agencies including Capitol Police, » she said in the statement.

The congresswoman said, « the fact that an individual was able to somehow circumvent the vetting processes for something as sensitive as security for members of Congress highlights the loopholes and shortcomings in many of our systems. »

JASMINE CROCKETT CAMPAIGN REPORTEDLY KICKED ATLANTIC WRITER OUT OF RALLY FOR BEING A ‘TOP-NOTCH HATER’

« This is incredibly alarming, especially for those members who receive high volumes of credible and sophisticated death threats, » she said. « This situation reiterates the need for Capitol Police to provide security for members of Congress, especially under this administration’s new normal of inciting attacks on those who dare to speak out. We are fortunate that this is someone who used those loopholes without malice. Furthermore, after an initial review of the limited criminal history of Diamon Mazairre Robinson in Dallas County, we’ve been unable to locate any violent offenses. »

The progressive lawmaker added that « there was never any reason to suspect that he wasn’t who he held himself out to be, » saying he never endangered her team, worked diligently, coordinated with local law enforcement and maintained positive relationships throughout the community. »

« What we’re now learning about his past doesn’t fit the person we came to know as Mike King, » she wrote. « His death evokes a range of emotions. Our hearts grieve the loss of someone we knew and the lost good that could have come from his redemption. »

  • Jane Fonda slams Paramount-WBD merger, warns CNN will ‘have to cave’ to Trump

Actress Jane Fonda protested a merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), CNN’s parent company, during an Oscars after-party Sunday night.

Variety spoke to Fonda about her « Block the Merger » pin, which she wore to the major Hollywood event to call out Paramount’s bid for the company. She emphasized that the merger could give the Trump administration some influence over CNN as WBD tries to move forward with the deal.

« The mergers are going to be bad for workers, » Fonda said. « A lot of people are going to lose their jobs. We’re going to have higher prices. We’re going to have political control of what we do. That’s why [Secretary of War Pete] Hegseth said, ‘CNN can’t come soon enough’ to be under the control of Paramount. We know Trump wants to hurt…I mean, I slept with the guy who created it! I have a personal stake in it. »

PARAMOUNT CEO DAVID ELLISON VOWS TO MAINTAIN CNN’S EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE AFTER TAKEOVER AMID STAFF FEARS

Fonda’s comments were in reference to her 10-year marriage to CNN founder Ted Turner between 1991 and 2001. She emphasized that Turner created CNN to be « trusted » and « not take positions. »

When asked, Fonda said that she has not spoken to Paramount CEO David Ellison or Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav about her issues. She remarked that she spoke to Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos when his company offered to buy WBD last year, though it was largely because the two were friends.

Fonda added that she was against any merger but reiterated that a merger with Paramount would be « problematic » because of President Donald Trump.

JAKE TAPPER RUEFULLY REVEALS CNN WILL BE AFFECTED BY PARAMOUNT’S LOOMING TAKEOVER OF NETWORK

« This [pin] was any merger, but the Paramount merger is really problematic. In order to get the permission to do the merger, they felt they had to cave to what Trump wanted. But we’re going to win, » Fonda said.

Fox News Digital reached out to Paramount Skydance and WBD for comment.

Fonda previously wrote an op-ed in The Ankler in December denouncing the sale of WBD to any company, claiming that it was a danger to free speech and the entertainment industry.

MOOD IS ‘HORRIFIC’ INSIDE CNN AS STAFFERS BRACE FOR CHANGE AMID POTENTIAL PARAMOUNT TAKEOVER, INSIDERS SAY

« The threat of this merger in any form is an alarming escalation in a consolidation crisis that threatens the entire entertainment industry, the public it serves, and — potentially — the First Amendment itself, » she wrote, insisting that Trump « has used anticipated mergers as tools of political pressure and censorship. »

In a comment to Fox News Digital, White House spokesperson Kush Desai said, « It’s been decades since anyone cared about what Hanoi Jane had to say about anything, and broadcasting that she, to quote her own words, ‘slept with the guy who created’ CNN isn’t changing that reality. »

  • Jerry O’Connell claims wife, daughters ‘became physical’ after his comments about Harris losing to Trump

Actor Jerry O’Connell revealed in a new interview that his wife, actress Rebecca Romijn, and their daughters « became physical » with him after former Vice President Kamala Harris lost the 2024 presidential election.

« If I say this, will I stay married? » the « Stand by Me » actor joked on Bill Maher’s « Club Random » podcast on Monday.

O’Connell continued describing the night of the election where he insisted that he did not believe President Donald Trump would win. However, he recalled making off-hand remarks to his family during the night.

BILL MAHER SLAMS OSCARS, SAYS HOLLYWOOD IS ‘A SECRET CABAL OF PEOPLE TERRIFIED OF LOOKING LIKE RACISTS’

« I said something along the lines of ‘there was no planning. This is what they get. There should have been a primary.’ I said something along those lines, you know, like I was just spit-balling ideas. It was a shock. My wife and daughters, without saying anything, became physical with me. They were filled with rage, » O’Connell said.

He continued, « So if I am being careful with you in how I say things, yes, I live in California. I live with not one, not two, but three people who, if I made any kind of joke, they’d become very angry with me. »

HOLLYWOOD FINDS FAILURE TO ELECT KAMALA HARRIS ‘UNSETTLING’: ‘NOT THE DRIVER ANYMORE’

Maher responded by saying he could not live that way.

« Whatever household situation I’m in, I say what I truly think, and if it makes you angry, I’m sorry. We’ll have to work that out. But I am not going to tuck my tail between my legs and just shut the f— up, » Maher said.

BILL MAHER RIPS KAMALA HARRIS’ BOOK, SAYS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED, ‘EVERYONE SUCKS BUT ME’

Fox News Digital reached out to Romijn’s representatives for comment.

O’Connell and Maher’s conversation came after Maher criticized Hollywood’s refusal to award or acknowledge the Paramount+ series « Landman » because it was perceived as a « conservative show. »

« First of all, even if it was a conservative show, that should be allowed. This is f—ing America, you a–holes. Okay, you know what? ‘Landman’ has girl bosses. It has Mexicans. It has a trans character. I mean, it’s just not exactly what you are. And so we have to ignore that and pretend it doesn’t exist. You want to know why people vote for Trump? That’s why your s—– attitude is a real turnoff, » Maher said.

  • DHS nabs Afghan man admitted under Biden after conviction for exposing himself to minor

FIRST ON FOX: An Afghan national let into the country during the Biden administration has been arrested by the Department of Homeland Security following a conviction for indecent exposure to a minor.

Basir Ahmad Safi, who is in his 30s, was arrested by DHS on March 11, according to the agency. Before his conviction for indecent exposure to a minor, Safi was charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition, soliciting a child via computer, unlawful use of a two-way communications device and child abuse.

He was admitted to the country in 2021 under former President Joe Biden’s « Operation Allies Welcome, » according to the agency. Two years later, in September 2023, Safi was arrested in Florida by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on those charges.

In an emailed statement to Fox News Digital, DHS Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis slammed the Biden administration for having allowed « this unvetted Afghan pedophile » in the U.S.

ANGEL MOM WHOSE 13-YEAR-OLD SON WAS EXECUTED BY ILLEGAL GANG MEMBER URGES INCOMING DHS CHIEF TO ACT

« He should NEVER have been allowed into our country or given the opportunity to prey on innocent children, » wrote Bis.

DHS said Safi was arrested as part of a joint investigation by Homeland Security Investigations Jacksonville and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. By the time of his arrest, Safi’s status had been revoked, and he was unlawfully residing in the U.S., DHS said. Safi is being held in ICE custody pending removal.

This comes after Rahmanullah Lakanwal, another Afghan national allowed into the country under Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome, shot two U.S. National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C. One of the service members, Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of the West Virginia National Guard, died from her injuries. The other, Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, was critically wounded but survived.

GOP LAWMAKERS WOULD STRIP CITIZENSHIP FROM TERRORISTS AFTER ATTACKS TIED TO NATURALIZED CITIZENS

According to DHS, the Biden-era Operation Allies Welcome relied on « unvetted referrals » to allow nearly 190,000 Afghan nationals into the country. The agency said those admitted into the U.S. included terrorists, sexual predators, pedophiles, domestic abusers and kidnappers

DHS said that « understanding this massive threat to American national security, » President Donald Trump halted Biden’s Afghan refugee resettlement program almost immediately after returning to the Oval Office. Months later, Trump suspended the entry of all Afghan nationals into the U.S.

Bis said that « under President Trump’s leadership, DHS has been focused on identifying, arresting, and removing public safety threats like Basir Ahmad Safi from our country. »

A spokesperson for former President Biden did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

  • Dem candidate’s unearthed ‘winter Texan’ comment could haunt campaign

Bobby Pulido, a Latin Grammy winner and music star, once said he would pursue Mexican citizenship and described himself as a « winter Texan » for spending much of the year south of the U.S. border, drawing scrutiny for his time spent internationally as he pursues a seat in Congress.

« It gets hot here, bro. Like real hot — like real hot. I’m a summer Mexican, » Pulido told interviewers in 2023.

« It sounds better: winter Texan. It sounds better to say, ‘I’m a winter Texan.’ »

His comments, which Pulido says he made in jest, run counter to statements he made to NBC News earlier this month.

TEXAS BORDER DISTRICT DEM CUELLAR BEATS BACK PRIMARY CHALLENGERS

« I live in Texas. We’ve always lived in Texas. Since COVID, really — that’s just not true, » Pulido said, responding to accusations that he only sometimes lived in the district he is running to represent.

Pulido is best known for his Tejano and Mexican–Spanish folk-style songs, such as « Desvelado » and « Se Murió de Amor, » and has received five nominations for a Latin Grammy Award.

He won Best Tejano Album in 2022 and 2025.

Pulido’s career still takes him south of the border on a regular basis, leading him to tell local newspapers in Mexico that he was considering dual citizenship in 2015.

« I’m going to be Mexican because I want the same Mexican passport you have, » Pulido told El Norte, a Mexican outlet.

His last five concerts have been in Mexico, according to his tour website.

Pulido made headlines last fall when he announced a congressional bid in one of the country’s most competitive districts. Shortly afterward, he also drew scrutiny for a resurfaced history of posting links to explicit websites on his personal X account — as well as for a social media post of what appeared to be him urinating on President Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

TRUMP’S PARDON OF HOUSE DEM CUELLAR BACK IN THE SPOTLIGHT AS HIS BROTHER FACES INDICTMENT

He has also received backlash over his past vulgar attacks against Trump, including posting the Spanish translation of « f— your mother. »

« I’d like to give you the biggest ‘f— you » you piece of s—, a–hole, d— head, son of a bit–, » Pulido said to Trump in another post

Despite those controversies, Pulido recently captured the Democratic nomination to run in Texas’ 15th Congressional District — a seat currently held by Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas.

De La Cruz, a two-term incumbent, needled Pulido over his time spent in Mexico through a post to X. She quipped that Pulido « only belongs at quinceañeras, » referring to the lavish, coming-of-age parties traditionally thrown for girls turning 15 in Latin cultures.

« Don’t threaten me with a good time, » Pulido shot back.

His campaign said Pulido asked local quinceañeras if he could attend them, drawing nearly 1,000 invites to parties in the district.

Pulido’s ties to Mexico extend beyond his music career.

A person familiar with Pulido’s background said his wife still lives in Mexico along with children from previous marriages. He also owns a house there and told interviewers in 2025 that he goes to Mexico for healthcare.

« We live on the border. My wife and I have a house in Mexico. So, we travel there, and we spend time over there. And I’ve had a pretty unique perspective of experiencing healthcare over there and healthcare here, » Pulido said.

TRUMP ENDORSES CUELLAR OPPONENT AFTER PARDONING DEM REP

His campaign confirmed that Pulido does not have dual citizenship.

« Bobby has one citizenship — American, and he’s proud of it. And, frankly, there’s nothing wrong with people having ties to family and heritage across borders, » Pulido’s spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

  • Arizona man who admitted to crucifying pastor asks for death penalty so ‘we can move on with our lives’

An Arizona man accused of crucifying a pastor and placing a crown of thorns on the victim’s head has requested the death penalty so everyone « can move on with our lives. »

Adam Sheafe, who is representing himself, asked the judge last week to allow him to enter a guilty plea, so the case can wrap up quickly, saying the legal system was « dragging this out, » according to Fox 10.

Sheafe, 51, is accused of murdering William Schonemann, the pastor of New River Bible Chapel, in April 2025 before mutilating the man’s body. Schonemann was found dead with his arms spread out in his bed and his hands pinned to a wall, authorities said.

The suspect previously confessed to the crime and has never claimed to be innocent.

PASTOR’S CRUCIFIXION MURDER SUSPECT SAYS ON VIDEO HE PLANNED TO KILL 14 MORE

« From day one, I’ve said I did this. These are the reasons why I did this, and I’m not contesting anything, » he told the court on Thursday, according to Fox 10. « And my speedy trial rights went from five months to basically two and a half years. And we’re dragging this out in the interest of justice. »

« What about the victim’s families? What about me? What about my family? We want closure so we can move on with our lives, » he continued.

His request for the death penalty on Thursday echoes comments he made a year ago, when he said he wanted to be executed immediately.

« Put me on death row, set the execution date for right now, » Sheafe told 12News at the time. « The victims want it. The victim’s families want it. I want it, and the taxpayers want it. »

Sheafe told Fox 10 last year that the murder of Schonemann, 76, was part of a plot targeting more than a dozen Christian leaders across the country in a mission he called « Operation First Commandment. »

He has claimed that Schonemann and other Christian pastors were leading followers onto a false path. The defendant’s father, Chris Sheafe, told the Arizona Family that his son had become obsessed with the Bible and has a large tattoo of a Hebrew word for God on his neck.

« Adam became extremely interested in the Old Testament. He read it extensively. And part of that process became his interest. We weren’t excited when we’d learned that he’d done it, but to have the tattoo, » his father said. « It means God. It means he’s directly related to God. And he wanted people to know that was his allegiance. »

Sheafe, who says he is mentally sound, initially filed a petition to plead « no contest, » but the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office objected to that request. Sheafe then offered to plead guilty, but a judge said a future hearing must happen first to ensure his guilty plea is entered voluntarily.

ARIZONA PASTOR FOUND DEAD WITH HANDS PINNED TO WALL IN HOMICIDE AT HOME

« It’s an undisputable fact that the victim, Pastor Bill Schonemann, was over 70 years old. It’s an undisputable fact that the crime was heinous in nature. I intended it to be heinous. So they’re two aggravating factors. And I have no mitigating factors. That’s why I’m saying, why do we have to drag this on and on and on? Why can’t we just go to sentencing? I’m not contesting anything, » Sheafe told the court on Thursday.

« Before I was even indicted, I gave a full confession to the FBI, » he continued, adding that he also admitted to the crime in interviews with multiple news outlets.

  • Former substitute teacher and boyfriend face 38 child sex charges as bond nears 9 million

A former Texas substitute teacher and her boyfriend are now facing a combined 38 child sex crime charges, with their bonds set at nearly $9 million.

Madison Paige Jones, a former substitute teacher in the Midlothian Independent School District, and her boyfriend Zackery Dondlinger were first arrested in December after Midlothian police launched an investigation into allegations involving a 5-year-old child who lived in Jones’ home.

Jones’ bond was initially set at $90,000 and Dondlinger’s initially reported at $250,000, but after the additional charges were filed earlier this month, their bonds increased dramatically.

Jones faces 13 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one count of possession of child pornography, two counts of indecency with a child involving sexual contact and three counts of indecency with a child involving exposure.

Dondlinger faces one count of sexual performance by a child under the age of 14, 13 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child involving sexual contact, three counts of indecency with a child involving exposure and one felony warrant.

Dondlinger’s bond is now set at $5 million, while Jones’ bond stands at $3.8 million.

NBC affiliate NewsChannel10 in Amarillo reported that court documents show Midlothian police were called to the home of a woman on Dec. 17 who identified herself as a friend of Jones.

The woman told officers she was concerned about Dondlinger’s behavior toward a 5-year-old child who lived in Jones’ home. Jones and Dondlinger were in a relationship at the time.

According to the documents, Jones allegedly told investigators Dondlinger directed her to sexually assault the child and that she carried out the acts. The documents also state that Jones told authorities Dondlinger had sexual fantasies involving the child.

Affidavits obtained by the station say Jones described the sexual acts to investigators and told police she recorded videos of the abuse and sent them to Dondlinger through Snapchat.

Investigators later seized Jones’ iPhone while executing a search warrant, and an affidavit reportedly states the phone contained a message from Dondlinger that supported Jones’ account of acting at his direction. Authorities also seized an iPad from Jones, while two iPhones were taken from Dondlinger at the time of his arrest.

Jones was first arrested Dec. 19 after police began investigating a report two days earlier of a potential child sexual assault.

Detectives later identified Dondlinger, 37, as a second suspect in the case, and he was arrested Dec. 23 and charged with sexual performance by a child, according to the Midlothian Police Department.

Midlothian police previously told Fox News Digital that Jones and Dondlinger had been in a dating relationship.

The Midlothian Independent School District said Jones is no longer employed by the district and confirmed she had worked as a substitute teacher on four occasions during the previous year. School officials also said they have no information suggesting the allegations are connected to Jones’ work or occurred on school property.

  • Team USA advances to World Baseball Classic final after win over Dominican Republic

Team USA is headed back to the World Baseball Classic (WBC) final, as they toppled the Dominican Republic, 2-1, in a thriller in Miami on Sunday night.

The U.S., who fell to Japan in the WBC final in 2023, will look for redemption against either Venezuela or Italy, who play their semifinal matchup on Monday night.

The hype and hysteria coming into this contest between two world baseball powerhouses lived up to it all despite what the box score said. Both teams came in clutch during key moments, while matching the raucous energy of the crowd.

Of course, the Dominican Republic dugout and faithful went ballistic when Junior Caminero, the 22-year-old Tampa Bay Rays rising star, belted a hanging breaking ball from Skenes in the bottom of the second inning with two strikes. The ball was pelted to left field at over 400 feet, and their patented celebration ensued.

The D.R. got the first strike off Skenes, who had been looking forward to this start against a lineup littered with some of the best baseball players in MLB. But two innings later, it was Team USA’s own young stars who turned the game around in their favor.

Gunnar Henderson, who manager Mark DeRosa chose to play at third base, his secondary position as a shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles, over Alex Bregman, one of the best defensive players at the hot corner in MLB, due to how well he hit Luis Severino. The veteran right-hander was amped for his start for the D.R., and his emotion showed it.

JAPAN SUFFERS SHOCKING COLLAPSE TO VENEZUELA IN WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC

However, DeRosa’s decision came down to how much success Henderson had against Severino. The decision paid off, as Henderson hit a moon shot over the right-center field fence to tie the game at one apiece.

Severino was pulled after one more batter for Gregory Soto, who was facing Boston Red Sox phenom Roman Anthony, the 21-year-old who has had a great first appearance in the WBC. After running the count full, Anthony took advantage of a fastball right down the middle, launching it over the center field wall to take a 2-1 lead.

The entire American dugout was on the field, as Anthony motioned across his chest, showing off his pride as he celebrated with teammates.

It was just what Team USA needed in the top of the fourth inning, especially after having runners at second and third with one out in the previous frame and not being able to get runs across. Aaron Judge and Kyle Schwarber both struck out to end the inning, which fired up Severino who screamed toward Team USA’s dugout.

But Judge clearly let that go from his head, as he had a crucial defensive play in the bottom of the third inning when he gunned down Fernando Tatis Jr. trying to go from first base to third. Tatis, who is a fast runner, was out by a mile, with Judge proving his elbow, which caused issues in 2025, is more than fine heading into the 2026 season.

The Dominicans ultimately chased Skenes from the game after 4.1 innings, as his final line read six hits, one earned run on the Caminero homer and two strikeouts. Severino lasted 3.1 innings, giving up five hits while striking out six Team USA hitters in an impressive outing that saw triple-digit fastballs on the radar gun.

The U.S. knew a 2-1 lead was not enough, but as the Dominican bullpen continued to stifle their bats, and Julio Rodriguez appeared to rob a home run from Judge, they needed their own relievers to come through. After Tyler Rogers and Griffin Jax did their jobs, David Bednar found himself in some trouble with runners on second and third with one out – the same situation Judge and Schwarber found themselves in – in the bottom of the seventh.

But Bednar, who escaped a similar situation against Canada in the quarterfinals, struck out Tatis and Ketel Marte to get out of the jam and keep the score the same.

Garrett Whitlock was solid in the eighth inning to keep the one-run lead alive, which led for the easiest decision for DeRosa on the night: Mason Miller to pitch the ninth.

The San Diego Padres All-Star closer got a strikeout to start the inning, but things got interesting when he walked Rodriguez and Will Smith couldn’t handle a pitch from Miller that allowed a free pass to second base.

Oneil Cruz moved Rodriguez to third on a groundnut to Bobby Witt Jr., leaving Geraldo Perdomo as the D.R.’s last hope. He had a clutch at-bat earlier in the game, one that could’ve tied it up if Wells read the line drive to center field better from second base.

But Miller got Perdomo looking on a 3-2 slider at the bottom of the zone to secure Team USA’s spot in the WBC final.

  • CNN liberal panelist argues billions spent on defense should go to health insurance instead

Political commentator, Leigh McGowan, argued Friday, on « CNN NewsNight » with Abby Phillips, that President Donald Trump’s decision to escalate the U.S. conflict with Iran raises questions about government spending priorities.

She complained that tens of thousands of Americans die each year without health insurance while the U.S. spends billions on war.

« You’re saying 46 Americans died, so we should attack this country. Here at home, 68,000 Americans die a year because they don’t have health insurance, » McGowan said. « So, if we’re going to spend billions of dollars on something, would it not make more sense to save American lives, to spend it here on health care than bombing another country. »

TRUMP SEEKS WARSHIPS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES TO HELP SECURE STRAIT OF HORMUZ

The exchange came during a panel discussion about the Trump administration’s military action in Iran, including reports that thousands of U.S. Marines were deployed near Kharg Island, a strategic Iranian oil-export hub.

McGowan argued the administration had not presented a clear exit strategy and warned the conflict could drain American resources that might otherwise address domestic challenges such as health care and social programs.

US COULD TAKE IRAN’S MAIN OIL EXPERT HUB ‘AT A TIME OF OUR CHOOSING,’ JACK KEANE SAYS

New York Post correspondent Lydia Moynihan challenged McGowan, arguing that crippling Iran’s global terror apparatus would be a clear victory for the United States.

« We’ve already seen this regime completely crippled, » Moynihan stated, « The military has been clear. We don’t want them to get a nuclear weapon. We want to decrease their missile supply. We are already accomplishing those goals. »

Moynihan acknowledged that Americans want the war to end « tomorrow, » but that the U.S. military has already delivered substantial blows to Iran’s capabilities.

McGowan reaffirmed that she is pro-military, but wants to see an end to the war.

« I am absolutely pro-military, which is why I am against this war, » McGowan said, « You need to not only have a plan and a reason, you need to have an exit-strategy. You have to know why you’re there, what you’re doing, what your goal is. We don’t have that. »

IRAN MOVES HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS IN CRYPTO DURING NATIONWIDE INTERNET BLACKOUT, REPORT REVEALS

Trump defended the military action as necessary to deter Iranian aggression and protect American personnel and allies in the Middle East.

« For decades it had been the policy of the United States never to allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, » Trump said during his State of the Union. « Many decades. Since they seized control of that proud nation 47 years ago, the regime and its murderous proxies have spread nothing but terrorism and death and hate. »
