  • World Series champ recalls terrifying near-drowning incident in Minnesota

Houston Astros star Carlos Correa detailed a harrowing ordeal he and his son faced on a Minnesota lake last summer.

Correa and his 3-year-old son were swimming in Lake Minnetonka when his legs began to cramp up. With his son clinging to him, Correa noticed a buoy a few feet away and swam to it in a last-ditch effort to stay alive.

He said he turned to God to help him through the strenuous time.

« ’Lord, save me,’ » he told MLB.com. « ‘I promise you that if you save me from this one, I will serve you and I will serve you forever.’ »

Correa wasn’t out of the woods yet when he got to the buoy. He slipped and fell under the water. As he struggled to stay above the water, he yelled out to a boat for help. Correa’s father-in-law, who was on the boat, noticed the MLB player struggling and swam out to help him.

« I was like, ‘From that moment on, I’m going to serve you,’ » Correa said he told God in that moment. « I am going to keep my promise. And from that moment, I’ve been fully devoted. »

Houston acquired Correa in a trade with the Minnesota Twins last July. It ended up being his second stint with the Astros as he continues to be on the team at the start of the 2026 season.

He played 51 games for the Astros in 2025, hitting .290 with six home runs.

Correa played eight years for the Astros from 2015 to 2021 before he signed a deal with the Twins. He was a two-time All-Star in his first run with Houston, won a World Series and was the 2017 American League Rookie of the Year.

He’s set to be in the lineup once again for opening day. The lineup includes Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez.

  • ATM jackpotting attacks surge across the US

You swipe your card and enter your PIN. You grab your cash and head out the door. It feels routine and secure. Most of us never give it a second thought. However, some ATMs are quietly being turned into cash machines for criminals.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently issued a cybersecurity alert about a rise in malware attacks targeting ATMs. These incidents are known as jackpotting attacks. In simple terms, hackers force machines to spit out money on command.

The numbers are growing. Since 2020, nearly 1,900 attacks have been reported. More than a third occurred just last year. In 2025 alone, losses have already exceeded $20 million. So what is really happening inside these machines, and why is the threat accelerating now?

HOW DEBIT CARD FRAUD CAN HAPPEN WITHOUT USING THE CARD

    How ATM jackpotting attacks work

This is not a Hollywood hacking scene. In many cases, attackers use generic keys to open the ATM’s maintenance cabinet. Once inside, they remove the storage drive. Then they load malware onto it or swap it with a compromised one.

After rebooting the machine, the malicious software takes control. One of the most widely used tools is a malware strain called Ploutus. It targets software known as XFS, which ATMs use to communicate with bank networks and authorize transactions.

Instead of asking the bank for permission, the malware overrides that process. It sends its own commands to the machine. The result? The ATM dispenses cash without a card, without an account and without a legitimate transaction. That is jackpotting.

Here is the uncomfortable truth. Many ATMs run on aging versions of Windows. Some machines have even displayed Windows 7 login screens. That operating system was released in 2009 and officially discontinued years ago.

Outdated software creates opportunity. If attackers find a vulnerability in the Windows operating system, they can exploit it across different ATM brands and financial networks. The FBI says these attacks are not tied to one specific bank or ATM manufacturer. Instead, they target common weaknesses shared across systems.

That makes the problem much bigger. And with hundreds of thousands of ATMs deployed across the U.S., upgrading and securing every machine will take time.

FEDS CHARGE 87 INDIVIDUALS IN MASSIVE ATM ‘JACKPOTTING’ OPERATION LINKED TO TREN DE ARAGUA GANG

The FBI has outlined several defensive steps for financial institutions:

These are practical fixes. But rolling them out nationwide is a slow process. Meanwhile, attackers continue to look for weak targets.

You might be thinking this sounds like a bank problem, not a personal one. Technically, consumers are not the direct victims in these cases. Unlike Bitcoin ATM scams that have cost individuals hundreds of millions, jackpotting attacks hit financial institutions. However, there is a ripple effect.

When banks lose money, insurance companies pay claims. Eventually, those costs show up somewhere. Higher fees. Increased service charges. Stricter policies. In the end, everyday customers absorb the impact. Cybercrime rarely stays contained.

HOW TO SAFELY VIEW YOUR BANK AND RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS ONLINE

How to protect yourself when using ATMs

While ATM jackpotting attacks primarily target banks, you can still take smart steps to protect yourself when using cash machines.

Choose machines inside bank branches or in busy areas with foot traffic. These locations are more likely to be monitored and maintained.

Criminals need physical access to tamper with machines. High traffic areas during regular business hours reduce that risk.

If a machine suddenly reboots, freezes or behaves strangely, stop immediately. Do not insert your card. Report the issue to the bank right away.

Check for loose panels, exposed wiring or unusual attachments near the card slot or keypad. If something looks off, use a different machine.

Shield your PIN with your hand as you type. This protects you from hidden cameras and shoulder surfers who may try to capture your code.

Enable text or app notifications for withdrawals and account activity. Instant alerts help you act quickly if anything unexpected appears.

Even though jackpotting bypasses customer accounts, fraud tactics evolve. Review your transactions often so you can catch unauthorized charges early.

Identity theft protection services can provide alerts about unusual financial activity across your accounts. Think of it as an added layer of awareness rather than a fix for ATM malware. See my tips and best picks on Best Identity Theft Protection at Cyberguy.com.

Many banks offer cardless access through secure mobile apps. This reduces exposure to skimming devices and physical tampering.

Install updates promptly to ensure you have the latest security patches and protections.

Staying alert lowers your risk and reinforces good habits, even when attackers are targeting financial institutions rather than individual customers.

ATM jackpotting attacks reveal something important. Even familiar machines can hide modern vulnerabilities. Most of us rarely think about the software running inside a cash dispenser. Yet those systems rely on the same operating foundations as home and office computers. When they fall behind on updates, criminals notice. The FBI alert is not a reason to panic. It is a reminder that digital security touches nearly every part of daily life, even the simple act of withdrawing cash.

  • Power Couple of Chaos: How a tycoon and activist built a ‘Revolutionary Base’ at the House of Singham

Part 1 of a five-part Fox News Digital series investigation follows the money that created the « Revolutionary Base » for a transnational network of organizations allegedly waging cognitive warfare on U.S. citizens on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party.

As far-left American activists flood Cuba to support its flailing communist regime, U.S. officials have opened a sprawling investigation into an anti-America, pro-China nonprofit network forged during a wedding celebration in late February 2017, off Runaway Bay on Jamaica’s northern coast.

There, beneath a canopy of palm trees, an elite cadre of activists, intellectuals, celebrities, political organizers and comrades in a global Marxist-Leninist-Maoist movement assembled to celebrate the « Revolutionary Love » of two luminaries, both 62 at the time: Neville Roy Singham, an American-born tech tycoon living in Shanghai, and Jodie Evans, a red-haired veteran activist and co-founder of CodePink Women for Peace.

Like the opening scene of « The Godfather, » where powerful families consolidate power, the wedding celebration was about much more than the union of two people.

Over four days of dancing, lectures and late-night conversations in venues from the Flavor Beach Bar to Sharkey’s Seafood, celebrating the bond of « Roy and Jodie, » alliances were formed that would shape protests, unrest and political agitation over the next decade, from the fiery 2020 scenes in Minneapolis to demonstrations today supporting the regimes in Cuba and Iran.

That weekend, Vijay Prashad, an academic described in the official wedding itinerary as a « Marxist intellectual, » spoke on a panel, « The Future of the Left. » Medea Benjamin, Evans’ friend and CodePink co-founder, danced barefoot at the wedding in a bright Indian outfit.

FAR-LEFT ACTIVISTS STAY IN 5-STAR CUBAN HOTEL AS ISLAND SUFFERS TOTAL BLACKOUT

According to sources, the wedding attendees invoked the teachings of Mao Zedong, the 20th century Chinese Communist Party leader who ruled China with an iron fist, inspired by Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, and they discussed how to mobilize the masses to wage a Maoist « People’s War. »

« The revolutionary war is a war of the masses, » Mao said in 1934.

Many were themselves relics of the Cold War, growing up before the Soviet Union was dismantled in 1989.

A monthslong Fox News Digital investigation pinpoints the Jamaica wedding as a starting point for launching a network of organizations that is today waging a new « People’s War » on America, aligned with the Chinese Communist Party’s geopolitical ambitions to eclipse the U.S. as a superpower through economic programs like the « Belt and Road » initiative, realizing the vision of China’s ideological godfather, Mao, through trade partnerships, economic deals and pro-China propaganda.

National security experts call it cognitive warfare.

Over almost a decade, Fox News Digital has learned, Singham and Evans have activated a global network that now numbers an estimated 2,000 hard-left organizations that parrot anti-U.S. propaganda supporting autocratic regimes leading China, Russia, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela and Gaza. Within activist circles, far-left critics refer to leftists who align with authoritarian regimes as « tankies. » Many groups and leaders from Singham’s network, including Evans and Benjamin, are part of the pro-communist convoy now in Cuba.

Fox News Digital has established a documented $278 million that flowed from Singham into organizations that « sow discord » in the U.S., as House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith put it recently at a hearing on foreign malign influence in the nonprofit industry.

According to the data, Singham created a base from which the U.S. is now one of the world’s most prolific exporters of radical pro-China communist ideology. Singham and Evans didn’t respond to requests for comment.

CUBAN EXILES IN MIAMI SAY ‘THIS IS THE END’ FOR COMMUNISM AS ISLAND TEETERS ON COLLAPSE

Xi Van Fleet, a Chinese American who survived Mao’s purge of innocents during the Cultural Revolution, told Fox News Digital that Singham and Evans are following the communist dictator’s playbook.

« Neville Roy Singham and his wife, Jody Evans, are bringing into the 21st century Mao’s dream for a People’s War, » Van Fleet said.

Mao’s doctrine of the People’s War emphasized long-term struggle through decentralized networks, ideological indoctrination and the mobilization of civilian institutions rather than direct military confrontation.

« They are bringing to the streets America’s worst nightmare of a Red Army that is seeking to destroy the United States and make China more competitive on the world stage, » said Van Fleet, the author of « Made in America: The Hidden History of How the U.S. Enabled Communist China and Created Our Greatest Threat. »

FAR-LEFT NONPROFITS IN THE HOT SEAT AS LAWMAKER EXPOSES THEM FOR ‘SOWING CHAOS’ IN US

Singham grew up familiar with Mao’s dictates.

He was born in mid-May 1954 in Middletown, Conn., the son of Archibald Singham, a Marxist-Leninist scholar of Sri Lankan heritage, and Shirley Hume, who also adhered to far-left ideology. By his own account, he joined the League of Revolutionary Black Workers as a teenager and worked at a Chrysler assembly line in Detroit.

FBI agents once attempted to interview him at the Chrysler Eldon Avenue Plant, noting in their report that he was « potentially dangerous » because of his « background, emotional instability » or role in groups involved in harmful activities « inimical to U.S., » according to a copy of the FBI report released by the House Ways and Means Committee.

According to the FBI report, Singham told the agents, « I don’t want to talk to you, » and walked away.

Singham quietly built his Thoughtworks technology company through the 1990s. Meanwhile, Evans was campaign manager for Democratic politician Jerry Brown’s losing 1992 California governor’s race.

After they exchanged vows in Jamaica, Evans called Singham her « adorable troublemaker, » her « darling Roy » and « adorable husband » in Instagram posts.

Fox News Digital analyzed 223 transactions that moved $591 million in total across five continents from 2017 through 2025, the latest year available, and found the money flows through five concentric rings of an ideological pipeline that spreads pro-China propaganda:

Last November, Singham walked through the doors of the Golden Tulip hotel in Shanghai for one of his rare public appearances, a two-day « Global South Academic Forum » conference blessed by the country’s ruling Chinese Communist Party, which the government officially calls the Communist Party of China, or CPC.

Videos and images from the conference provide a rare public window into the messaging, symbolism and participants of a network that otherwise operates opaquely.

The opening talk featured Prashad, Singham’s wedding guest, releasing a 172-page treatise written by Singham, chairman of the « International Advisory Board » of Tricontinental, a think tank Singham had funded and one of the conference sponsors. Another co-sponsor was the East China Normal University, which is administered by the Communist Party of China.

In the report, « 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the World Anti-Fascist War: Acknowledging Who Truly Saved Human History and Restoring Historical Truth, » which Fox News Digital has uncovered, Singham rewrote the history of World War II to elevate the role of China and the « Global South » in defeating Nazi Germany.

On page 61, Singham blasted the West but held out hope it could be defeated.

« Socialist peoples and leadership can defeat imperialism in any form – fascist then, hyper-imperialist now – despite every material disadvantage, » he argued. « That victory required genius, courage and unimaginable sacrifice. It also proved something imperialism cannot accept: ordinary people, organised and led with brilliance, can defeat any empire. »

Singham then quoted Mao, saying that the brutal leader « crystallized this truth » in his book « On Protracted War, » when he wrote, « The richest source of power to wage war lies in the masses of the people. »

In the paper, Singham diminishes the deaths of U.S. and British troops and service members, writing that the Soviets and China really won the war with, « 59.8% socialists dead, 13.1% colonised peoples dead – only 1% Anglo-Americans dead. »

He also condemns British leader Winston Churchill’s « genocidal impulses. »

About 23 minutes into his remarks, Prashad welcomed Singham on stage with two other colleagues and Singham took a bow to the applause of the audience members and said, « Thank you, comrades, friends. »

In a video of the event, unearthed by Fox News Digital, Singham railed against « the fascist lie » of the West that « there is a battle between fascism, democracy and communism. »

Singham articulated a view of global power that challenges the Western understanding of World War II and the postwar international order.

« Fascism is actually a face of capitalism and imperialism, as is colonialism. These are the three faces of a system that is quite now becoming very dangerous for us. »

    He didn’t identify « us. »

In the clip, Singham describes a « rules-based international order » that he argues is built on a « lie » about democracy. The excerpt is included for the purpose of reporting and analyzing the content of his remarks.

He talked about the Americans and « their » failure to hold fascists accountable from the « anti-fascist » war.

« If we want to, therefore, have a new world order that is based on multilateralism that President Xi and CPC and China have proposed, we have to undo the ideological damage that has been done by the narrative of World War II, » he said, using the acronym for the Communist Party of China, called CCP in the West.

He ended by recognizing Soviet and Chinese fighters who died during World War II, and he urged the group to « honor » them for their underappreciated sacrifice.

« China has a very important role, and we, in this forum, have a very important role, » Singham said, « that to envision a new order, a new multi-polarity order, requires, quite frankly, the deconstruction, a restorationist history of what really happened, who really suffered. Of those who died, almost 70% of the people who died in World War II were in China and the Soviet Union. »

The comments reflect a broader ideology that reframes historical events and positions China’s communist system as the better alternative to Western « democracy. »

Asked about Singham, Liu Pengyu, a spokesman for the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Washington, D.C., told Fox News Digital, « I am not familiar with the specifics of this particular case. »

Pengyu added, « As a matter of principle, however, China consistently upholds the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. »

WATCH: HARDCORE SOCIALIST GROUPS STAGE-MANAGE ANTI-ICE PROTEST IN WASHINGTON

As part of this investigation, Fox News Digital tracked street protests from New York City to Berkeley, Calif., and built a database with thousands of pages of IRS tax filings, corporate records, social media posts, website content and other material.

The investigation analyzed 1,663 events the People’s Forum hosted from early August 2018 and its most recent gatherings early this year. The events included academics and researchers from at least 225 colleges and universities that are being analyzed separately.

The scale of what the couple built goes far beyond anything previously documented, revealing a network that acts like a transnational, asymmetric propaganda machine. It features a central headquarters, substantial war chest, defined command structure, propaganda wing and street-level foot soldiers. Its operations extend beyond the United States into multiple overseas theaters.

FOX NEWS DIGITAL ANALYSIS: HOW MINNEAPOLIS AGITATOR NETWORKS USE INSURGENCY TACTICS TO HINDER ICE

At a protest in Lower Manhattan in early January, David Chung, organizing director at the People’s Forum, and Hannah Priscilla Craig, art, culture and communications director at the People’s Forum, walked away from requests for interviews.

When approached by Fox News Digital at the People’s Forum offices in Manhattan, Brian Becker, a founder of the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the ANSWER Coalition, with operations at the People’s Forum, called the inquiries « witch hunting » and referred to a reporter as « a terrorist. »

Manolo De Los Santos, executive director of the People’s Forum, compared the scrutiny to the era of Sen. Joseph McCarthy, who conducted congressional hearings into communist infiltration in the U.S. in the 1950s.

Becker’s son, Ben Becker, editor-in-chief of BreakThrough BT News, a propaganda wing of Singham’s network, watched silently.

Soon after, in mid-February, the Global South Academic Forum released a video, « The World Is Small, The South Is Vast, » featuring highlights from last fall’s conference at Shanghai’s Golden Tulip hotel. The video underscores how the Singham network has created a « Revolutionary Base » in which academic discussion blends with historical symbols tied to revolutionary communism.

In the last seconds of the video, Singham stands at attention as a global communist anthem, « The Internationale, » plays, his comrades punching the air with their fists in solidarity.

Niikolas Lanam, Kiera McDonald, Hannah Brennan, Mitch Picasso and Brooke Curto contributed to this report.

  • Trump’s Iran strategy is working and teaching our foes what deterrence means

President Donald Trump didn’t start this war. The Islamic Republic did — on Nov. 4, 1979, when it invaded the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. For nearly half a century, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism has killed and maimed more Americans than any other terrorist regime on Earth. It even plotted twice to assassinate Trump himself.

The regime’s attacks against the United States and our allies are not a series of isolated incidents, but a single, continuous war waged by the mullahs for 47 years. From the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing to the Iranian IEDs that killed 603 Americans in Iraq — roughly one out of every six American combat fatalities — the regime operated on the assumption that Washington lacked the stomach to respond. For years, that bet paid off. Tehran interpreted restraint not as prudence but as permission.

From the October 7 Hamas massacre of roughly 1,200 people, including 46 Americans to 180-plus attacks on U.S. forces last year, the regime has always told us what it wants: death to America.

To confront this looming threat, every American president since Jimmy Carter chose to kick the can down the road, calling it diplomacy. That changed in 2020 when Trump ordered the strike against Qassim Soleimani, the regime’s chief terrorist and IED mastermind. Washington’s foreign-policy class criticized it, but the Iranian people celebrated it.

MICHAEL OREN: IRAN HAS WAGED WAR ON AMERICA FOR 47 YEARS — TIME TO END IT

When the regime massacred more than 40,000 protesters in January 2026 and attempted to hide the atrocity from the world by shutting down the internet, the people again looked to Trump for help. He answered their call by doing what his predecessors never dared, moving to « end this long-running danger once and for all. »

The case for action was strong. Beyond humanitarian grounds, Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy to the Middle East, revealed the details of his and Special Peace Envoy Jared Kushner’s negotiations leading up to the conflict. Their Iranian counterparts proudly admitted they stockpiled enough uranium for 11 nuclear bombs, attainable in weeks. When the U.S. offered to supply Iran’s nuclear fuel for free in exchange for a halt to enrichment, Tehran refused. Witkoff concluded that Iran had no intention of doing anything other than weaponizing its stockpile.

This nuclear threat was built on decades of deception. The regime hid tubes from IAEA inspectors so it could secretly restore the Arak reactor. It concealed an entire nuclear weapons archive from negotiators (subsequently acquired by Israel), then stonewalled international investigators probing undeclared nuclear materials and activities at multiple sites.

THE WAR HITS HOME: WHY FINANCIAL PAIN AND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY THREATEN TRUMP’S DRIVE TO TOPPLE IRAN’S REGIME

The Obama Administration’s deeply flawed Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) did not constrain the Islamic Republic. Instead, it legitimized and funded Iran’s gradual pursuit of nuclear weapons. Trump accurately called the JCPOA « the worst deal ever negotiated. » He walked away from the agreement in 2018, instituting a maximum pressure campaign, denying the regime more than $200 billion in oil revenue that would otherwise have financed terror operations.

President Joe Biden inexplicably abandoned the strategy, handing Iran the breathing room to accelerate enrichment — until Trump struck the regime’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan last June during Operation Midnight Hammer. When Iran’s negotiators bragged about their bomb-ready stockpile, telling Witkoff, « We’re not going to give you diplomatically what you couldn’t take militarily, » Trump launched Operation Epic Fury.

The operation’s objectives—the embodiment of Trump’s « peace through strength » doctrine — were laid out by the Department of War: destroy Iran’s offensive ballistic missiles and production facilities, annihilate its navy and naval infrastructure, sever terrorist proxy networks, prevent nuclear-weapons development by targeting related sites and degrade the regime’s security apparatus — including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command centers, air defenses, missile and drone launchers and airfields.

LIZ PEEK: IRAN WAR COULD BECOME THE ACHIEVEMENT THAT ENSURES TRUMP’S LEGACY

So far, the results are ahead of schedule. In a joint operation with Israel, Ali Khamenei, the regime’s leader, was killed alongside much of his inner circle and the senior military command — including the heads of the IRGC and Basij, as well as senior power broker Ali Larijani.

More than 80% of Iran’s ballistic missile stockpile and production capacity has been destroyed, along with the bulk of its naval fleet and port infrastructure. Iran’s proxy financing networks — the pipelines that kept Hezbollah, the Houthis and Hamas armed and operational — have been severed. Nuclear-related sites across the country have been obliterated. At least 49 senior regime officials have been killed or removed from the battlefield.

This unprecedented degradation of the regime’s repressive forces is leveling the battlefield and creating unprecedented conditions on the streets for the Iranian people to rise up and challenge the mullahs directly.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION

The job is not finished. But it is on track. Staying the course will finish it.

President Trump spoke directly to the Iranian people in his address launching the operation: « [T]he hour of your freedom is at hand…When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. » That moment is now within reach.

Trump’s strategy is working. His legs are not wobbly and his commitment unshaken: « We don’t want to leave early, do we? … We don’t want to come back every two years. » Half-measures against this regime have a 47-year track record of failure. History will vindicate Trump’s resolve to end it.

As Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, the leader of Iran’s democratic opposition, put it: Donald Trump will be remembered as the leader who stood with the Iranian people when it mattered most — alongside history’s greatest liberators.

  • Why a judge eviscerating the Pentagon rules for censoring and punishing journalists is a victory for the press

I don’t hear any cheering out there.

A federal judge has thrown out the Pentagon’s draconian restrictions on what journalists can report, but most Americans don’t care.

A policy that led to the eviction of major news organizations — from the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, to ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News — has been overturned. It’s a big-time win for free speech.

But the media’s credibility is at an all-time low, the result of years of bias, blunders and boneheadedness. That’s why there’s no sign-waving in the streets or digital high-fiving outside those involved in the business.

MEDIA UNDER FIRE: JOURNALISTS KEEP QUESTIONING IRAN WAR AS HEGSETH CALLS THEM ‘UNPATRIOTIC’ AND ‘ANTI-TRUMP’

Just compare that with the tsunami of reaction to ABC canceling « The Bachelorette » over violent footage of its star.

Sure, many people may not know about the judge’s ruling, given that it’s hard for civilians to follow the blizzard of court cases involving President Donald Trump. It’s a challenge even for those of us who do this for a living.

But here’s why ordinary folks should care.

If this administration, or a future Democratic administration, can routinely yank the credentials of correspondents who cover defense, then the official version of how great things are going will dominate the news.

And here’s why they should especially care right now.

We’re in the middle of a war with Iran.

In the lawsuit brought by the New York Times, Judge Paul Friedman in Washington said, « those who drafted the First Amendment believed that the nation’s security requires a free press and an informed people and that such security is endangered by governmental suppression of political speech. » It’s been that way, he said, for 250 years.

A Pentagon spokesman said the department is appealing.

What news outlet, regardless of political persuasion, could agree not to solicit information that hasn’t been officially approved for release by the Department of War?

Well, there’s MyPillow guy Mike Lindell, who blew up his business to zealously support Trump. He regularly promotes conspiracy theories about how the 2020 election was stolen. His LindellTV is credentialed press at the Pentagon.

PETE HEGSETH CRITICIZES ‘FAKE NEWS’ COVERAGE OF IRAN STRIKES, SAYS ONLY TRAGEDIES MAKE FRONT PAGE

So is former Congressman Matt Gaetz, whose nomination as attorney general collapsed over accusations of paying an underage girl for sex. He now hosts a show on One America News.

So is Laura Loomer, the far-right activist and Trump confidante who has said a 2022 mass shooting in Buffalo was a hoax perpetrated by the Democrats; suggested that the deep state used weather manipulation in 2024 to cause a blizzard before the Iowa caucus to benefit Nikki Haley; and, during that campaign, that « Joe Biden is dying. »

So is James O’Keefe, founder of the conservative group Project Veritas, which used undercover video to capture biased conduct and embarrassing comments by those in the mainstream media. He once pleaded guilty to entering a senator’s office under false pretenses, and was removed by his board in 2023, over allegations of financial improprieties.

Trump has long been engaged in legal and rhetorical combat against the media, especially in the last year. He has successfully sued CBS and ABC for settlements worth at least $16 million apiece. He has denounced journalists he views as unfair and major news outlets as corrupt. Trump has said some media outlets should be prosecuted for treason over their « lies » about the Iran conflict.

At the same time, Trump provides previously unthinkable levels of access, holding constant news conferences and gaggles, and repeatedly taking brief calls from reporters and anchors on his cellphone.

At the Department of War, Secretary Pete Hegseth has also accused « dishonest » media outlets of deliberately playing up American casualties and other negative war news to make Trump look bad.

But such criticism, even if it’s warranted, is a far cry from the secretary’s move last October, giving his department sweeping power to classify reporters as « security risks » and revoke their credentials. What’s more, journalists, who regularly rely on unnamed sources, had to agree to seek information only from those authorized to speak for the Pentagon.

That, said the judge, would allow only stories « favorable to or spoon-fed by department leadership. » He said the evidence shows that the department targeted « disfavored journalists » and sought to replace them with those who are « on board and willing to serve. »

Imagine the reaction on the right if Gavin Newsom was president and his defense secretary went after journalists with conservative viewpoints.

WHY TRUMP IS DENOUNCING THE MEDIA’S IRAN WAR COVERAGE AS TOO NEGATIVE – BOOSTED BY RHETORICAL FCC BACKING

Friedman tied his 40-page ruling to the current military environment and even the midterms.

« Especially in light of the country’s recent incursion into Venezuela and its ongoing war with Iran, it is more important than ever that the public have access to information from a variety of perspectives about what its government is doing — so that the public can support government policies, if it wants to support them; protest, if it wants to protest; and decide based on full, complete, and open information who they are going to vote for in the next election. »

Journalists have been asking plenty of probing questions about the war. How can the U.S. break Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which has choked off a chunk of the world’s oil supply? How can Americans in the surrounding Arab countries be protected from Iranian drones? What about soaring gas prices at home?

The president addressed such questions at a news conference the other day without attacking the press. He’s upset with our European allies who refuse to protect the strait. He thought the rise in oil prices would be much worse. He initially projected a timetable of four to six weeks, but now says he can declare victory and end our « incursion, » as he calls it, at any moment.

Trump keeps stressing that our military has decimated Iran’s defenses, and of course he’s right, a reality that sometimes gets lost in the coverage.

The point is that journalists have to ask these questions in wartime. But it is harder for Pentagon correspondents, who tend to be specialists, to do their jobs without credentials. They’re not « in the room, » as they say in « Hamilton, » but outside the massive building looking in.

If the judge’s injunction stands, that will change. Defense reporters will no longer be excommunicated for doing their jobs or holding certain political views.

The vast majority of Americans may not care, but the press corps — for all its flaws and excesses — is making sure they get the full story when the stakes are life and death.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the suspects were taken into custody as detectives served 13 search warrants at locations between December and February in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The warrants were served as part of an ongoing multi-agency investigation into organized crime and cargo theft, the department said in a social media post.

  • Iowa hits clutch 3-pointer in closing seconds to stun Florida

Timely shots and a gritty performance helped the Iowa Hawkeyes knock off the defending NCAA men’s basketball national champion Florida Gators on Sunday night, 73-72.

Down two points, Iowa inbounded the ball to guard Bennett Stirtz who dribbled up the floor and found Alvaro Folgueiras in the corner. Folgueiras took one dribble back to make sure he was above the 3-point line and nailed the go-ahead bucket for just over four seconds left.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Folgueiras pointed to the sky to honor his late father. Florida couldn’t get a last-second shot up and Iowa won the game. He was seen hugging his mother in the stands.

« It’s really special, » Folgueiras said after the game. « We went through a lot of moments in the season. I’ve been in a lot of moments in my life. My mom is there after fighting for me her whole life. This is really special. It’s for the dreamers and there’s no better dreamers than us. »

ST JOHN’S SENDS KANSAS PACKING WITH DRAMATIC BUZZER-BEATING LAYUP IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

Folgueiras scored 14 points and had five rebounds in the win. Iowa star Tavion Banks added 20 points on 7-of-10 from the field.

Florida’s Alex Condon led the Gators with 21 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Thomas Haugh added 19 points and Xavian Lee had 17 points.

It will be the first time since 1999 that Iowa will be able to compete in the Sweet 16. In that year, J.R. Koch and the Hawkeyes lost to the Rip Hamilton-led UConn Huskies.

Florida is the first No. 1 seed in the men’s tournament to fall.

The Gators will no longer be in the running to be repeat champions. It means the Dan Hurley-led UConn team remains the only back-to-back champions since Florida began its own dynasty in 2006 and 2007.

  • Tom Brady gives praise to Logan Paul after flag football game

WWE star Logan Paul left a lasting impression on NFL legend Tom Brady during the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on Saturday, the seven-time Super Bowl champion said after the game.

Brady and Paul had a few flare-ups on the field, but kept things professional. The two had a heated feud over the last month leading up to the game.

« I’ll say this, he impressed me out there, » Brady told Fox News Digital in the postgame press conference. Some of the coaches that were coaching him said how serious he was taking it and how he just wanted to learn and be a sponge to go out there and do a great job.

« To watch what he and his brother have done … you know, there’s a lot of tit-for-tat stuff but I do have respect for people that are really driven to succeed. I’m a firm believer in you don’t wait for things to happen, you make it happen. And if you want positive things to happen in your life, you go for it and you’re fearless and you don’t settle for a backup plan. He really displayed that today. »

SUPER BOWL CHAMP, 66, LOOKING TO MAKE US FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM

Brady showed that he hadn’t really lost a step on the football field but it was Team USA that outpaced everyone. The national team crushed Brady’s team, 43-16, after defeating Joe Burrow’s squad, 39-16.

Some NFL players have made clear their intentions of trying out for the U.S. Olympic team as the sport will debut in the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

However, national team stars Darrell Doucette III and Nico Casares have made clear they aren’t going to just relinquish their spots easily.

  • Cuban official reveals military ‘preparing’ for conflict after Trump considers ‘taking’ island

Cuba is bracing for the « possibility of military aggression, » a senior official warned Sunday, as President Donald Trump floats « taking » control of the island nation after a string of bold foreign policy moves.

« Our military is always prepared and, in fact it is preparing these days for the possibility of military aggression, » Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío told NBC’s « Meet the Press. »

He continued, « We would be naive, looking at what’s happening around the world, if we did not do that. But we truly hope that it doesn’t occur… and we find no justification [for it] whatsoever. »

RUBIO SAYS CUBA NEEDS ‘NEW PEOPLE IN CHARGE’ AS BLACKOUTS, UNREST GRIP ISLAND

When pressed to provide specifics on how the country is preparing for the possibility of a conflict, Fernández de Cossío told NBC’s Kristen Welker that the country has « historically been ready to mobilize » but didn’t offer any more information.

Trump told Fox News’ Peter Doocy last week that he believed he would soon have the « honor » of « taking Cuba… in some form. »

« I think I could do whatever I want with it, to tell you the truth, » he said.

CHINA SLAMS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OVER US SANCTIONS ON CUBA

Fernández de Cossío similarly reiterated Cuba’s sovereignty, stressing the island nation’s refusal to become a state of any other country or superpower.

When asked if action taken by the United States could result in a military conflict, Fernández de Cossío stressed Cuba’s wishes to avoid conflict at all costs.

« We truly hope that there’s no military action and, frankly, we see no reason – we see no justification for military action against Cuba, » he said. « Cuba is a peaceful country. We’re not an enemy of the United States, we don’t pose any threat to the United States. In fact, we said it openly, we would like to have a friendly and respectful relationship with the United States… »

  • Schumer knocks Trump on Iran, plan to send ICE to airports: ‘Asking for trouble’

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., condemned President Donald Trump’s plan to deploy U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to U.S. airports on Sunday.

Schumer made the comments while speaking on the Senate floor Sunday, saying Trump’s decision is « impulsive » and could make the situation at airports worse.

« Today, Donald Trump and [Tom] Homan are saying they will deploy ICE agents to airports starting on Monday. This is really disturbing. ICE agents who are untrained and have caused problems everywhere they’ve gone lurking at our airports. That’s asking for trouble, and it will certainly make the chaos at the airports even worse, » Schumer said.

« No one has any faith in ICE agents. They haven’t received training. They don’t know what it is to be a TSA person and do what you need to do, » he continued. « And the real problem here is they have no plan for using these ICE agents. Trump says, send them there. They send them there. And Homan says they’re still drawing up plans with less than a day’s notice. What is this? We know what it is. It’s another impulsive action by Donald Trump. »

SCHUMER GAMBIT FAILS AS DHS SHUTDOWN HITS 36 DAYS AND AIRPORT LINES GROW

« Some idea pops into his head and he announces it. And then the people working for him, a few of whom do have some degree of talent and ability. Not many underlings. They have to rush to try and implement what they know is an idiotic plan, » he said.

The ICE deployment is Trump’s latest move in the battle with Democrats over funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

Schumer also used his time on the Senate floor Sunday to criticize Trump’s actions in Iran.

« Donald Trump said, ‘you know, I may have a plan or I may not for a war,’ » Schumer said. « There’s people’s lives are at stake. Billions are being spent on an almost daily basis. And he says, you know, ‘I may have a plan or I may not.’ These are the words of the commander in chief in the middle of a war involving one of the most dangerous regimes on Earth. ‘I have a plan, or I may not.’ »

« That’s unhinged and dangerous. Lives are on the line. The president says he may not even have a plan. Tens of billions are being wasted. No plan. Troops being killed and injured, no plan. Civilians being killed and injured. No plan. Gasoline costs $3.94 a gallon on average. And Trump, ‘I have no plan’, » Schumer said.

Meanwhile, Schumer and his allies have refused to approve DHS funding without reforms to immigration enforcement.

TSA agents across the country have gone more than a month without a paycheck, with no clear end in sight.

Trump first threatened to deploy ICE to airports on Saturday, demanding that Democrats « immediately sign an agreement » to fund DHS.

DHS SHUTDOWN TRIGGERS TSA ‘EMERGENCY MEASURES’ AS LAWMAKER WARNS AIRPORTS COULD FEEL ECONOMIC PAIN

Airports across the country have reported huge numbers of employees calling out sick or not showing up for work. More than 400 TSA employees have quit their jobs.

« On Monday, ICE will be going to airports to help our wonderful TSA Agents who have stayed on the job despite the fact that the Radical Left Democrats, who are only focused on protecting hard-line criminals who have entered our Country illegally, are endangering the USA by holding back the money that was long ago agreed to with signed and sealed contracts, and all, » Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social.

Trump also predicted blowback from Democrats, saying they would complain « no matter how great a job ICE does. »

  • California sheriff seizes 650,000 ballots in defiance of state officials over election count dispute

A California sheriff and top Republican candidate for governor seized over 650,000 votes from the state’s November elections this weekend.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco launched an investigation into the state’s November 2025 special election on Proposition 50 after a third-party organization, the Riverside Election Integrity Team, claimed it found roughly 45,000 excess votes. California elections officials have dismissed the team’s findings, but Bianco says his office will conduct another count.

« This investigation is simple: Physically count the ballots and compare that result with the total votes recorded, » Bianco told reporters at a Friday press conference.

Proposition 50 was a key proposal seeking to reform California’s congressional districts. It was designed to favor Democrats in response to a similar effort by Republicans in Texas.

BIANCO SAYS ‘DEMOCRAT POLICY IS INDEFENSIBLE’ AS GOP CANDIDATES TOP CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR POLLING

Secretary of State Shirley Weber has argued Bianco has no authority to carry out a recount.

« The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has taken actions based on allegations that lack credible evidence and risk undermining public confidence in our elections, » Weber told City News Service. « The sheriff’s assertion that his deputies know how to count is admirable. The fact remains that he and his deputies are not elections officials, and they do not have expertise in election administration. »

Riverside elections official Art Tinoco rejected the Riverside Election Integrity Team’s findings earlier this month, saying the group had misinterpreted how votes are counted on Election Day.

GOP SHERIFF LEADING CALIFORNIA POLL RIPS NEWSOM’S ‘LOVE AFFAIR’ WITH CRIMINALS

Tinoco told county supervisors earlier this year that the initial intake logs by polling workers are meant to be estimates rather than exact tallies of how many votes were cast. Even so, he said the final tally was within 0.16%, or 103 votes, of the original estimate.

The Elections Integrity Team maintains their math is correct, however, and it was this disagreement that led Bianco to open an investigation of his own.

Bianco accused California Attorney General Bob Bonta, a Democrat, of intervening in the investigation. Bonta, however, says his office only sought to learn the basis of the probe.

Bianco has also clashed on social media with Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., who is running for California governor as well.

Bianco said Friday that his office had received multiple letters from Bonta ordering him to cease the investigation, according to the Desert Sun.

« The outrage that an investigation was happening was extremely concerning to me, especially coming from someone who claims to be a law enforcement officer that is, I’ve said this a minimum of a thousand times, he’s an embarrassment to law enforcement, » Bianco said.

Bonta and Weber did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

  • Miranda Lambert’s childhood home hits market for $1.59M as parents say goodbye to Texas farmhouse

Miranda Lambert is saying goodbye to her childhood home.

The 42-year-old country singer’s home in Lindale, Texas, has been placed on the market for $1.59 million by her parents, Rick and Beverly, in partnership with listing agent Lee Trowbridge of Compass.

« Until their transition out of the home about a year ago, the property served as the Lambert family home, » Trowbridge told Mansion Global. « During their time living there, the property was a home to many, including those who needed a helping hand, or a place to land. »

According to the outlet, Lambert lived in the home from the age of 14 to 21, and later purchased the pink house on the property, « after she signed her record deal when she was 21. » The country star still owns the pink house.

COUNTRY MUSIC STARS TURN FAME INTO FLAVOR WITH BOOMING RESTAURANT VENTURES: SEE THE LIST

Originally built in 1923, the 4,643-square-foot home includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms across two floors, with the perfect mix of modern and vintage details.

In addition, the home also boasts 2,500 square feet of outdoor living space with a brick courtyard, an outdoor kitchen, a covered patio and access to a private dock along the pond.

A metal warehouse and a shop with an additional bathroom and living area can also be found on the property, as well as a designated 100-yard shooting range.

« This property’s biggest draw is its blend of country music history and its massive 2,500 square feet of outdoor living space, » Trowbridge said. « Between the vintage interior character and the practical additions like the shop and shooting range, the property offers a rare mix of cool factor and functional country living. »

MIRANDA LAMBERT SAYS SHE’S ‘ADDICTED’ TO SHOOTING GUNS ON HORSEBACK IN NEW WILD WEST HOBBY

While Lambert didn’t write her 2009 hit song, « The House That Built Me, » she has said in many interviews the song resonated with her and was similar to her real life.

The song tells the story of an adult returning to their childhood home and asking the current homeowners if she could walk around inside, in order to relive the happy times from when she was younger.

« It was a run-down farmhouse that my mom somehow made into a beautiful home little by little. That’s why that song was so special when I heard it, because I lived it, » she told Southern Living’s podcast, « Biscuits and Jam » in May 2023.

« That was when we had kind of lost everything, and my parents were starting over, » she added. « We had to start over a little bit and move to a different town, and my dad and my mom just rebuilt. I mean, they literally were like, ‘We’re gonna start over and rebuild our lives and get back on our feet.’ »

She added that when they moved into the farmhouse, her « dad decided that his family would never be hungry » and that they « would live off the land, » noting « that’s exactly what happened. »

The « Tin Man » singer recalled her dad hunting for their food and setting up a « garden and compost pile, » adding they also « raised rabbits » and her mom would can everything.

Lambert broke into the music industry in 2003 after she placed third on « Nashville Star, » which ultimately led to her landing a record deal. She released her first studio album, « Kerosene, » in 2005, which went platinum, immediately cementing her place in the country music world.

Since then, she has released seven additional studio albums, two of which won the Grammy Award for best country album, and holds the record for the most awarded artist at the Academy of Country Music Awards, with 35 wins, including nine consecutive female vocalist of the year wins.

Most recently, Lambert collaborated with Kacey Musgraves for a song on Musgraves’ latest album, after the two were rumored to have been feuding. Lambert recorded « Mama’s Broken Heart » for her 2013 album, after it was pitched to her without Musgraves’ knowledge, despite the fact that she had planned to release it as her first single.

« And ultimately, I’m really glad that I did, because it forced me to write ‘Merry Go Round,’ which ended up making way more sense for me anyways, aesthetically and lyrically, to kick my whole thing off, versus ‘Mama’s Broken Heart,’ » Musgraves told NPR in March. « And that ended up going No. 1 for her. So in the end, everyone won because I was able to let go of something. »

  • No 12 High Point falls short of Sweet Sixteen bid after late run by four-seed Arkansas

No. 12 High Point put everyone on notice for the second time in as many games this March Madness, but could not find the same success.

After advancing to the Round of 32 following an upset victory over No. 5 Wisconsin, the Panthers’ season ended after No. 4 Arkansas ran away from them late Saturday night.

High Point led by as many as five early in the game, and they were up 56-52 with 14:17 to go after going on a 12-2 run.

Both teams exchanged buckets for several minutes, with no one expanding their respective leads by more than three points for a little while.

With 7:04 to play, the Panthers took a 72-71 lead, to which the Razorbacks responded with a 10-2 run, putting them up by seven and giving them their largest lead of the night.

The game was then quickly tied at 83 after a wild run by High Point, but over the final 3:19, Arkansas outscored High Point, 11-5, to snatch the victory, despite a valiant effort from the Panthers.

VANDERBILT’S HAIL MARY SHOT MISSES BY NARROWEST OF MARGINS AS NEBRASKA ADVANCES TO SWEET 16 IN EPIC FASHION

Arkansas was favored by 11.5, and while they couldn’t cover, it was another Sweet 16 appearance for legendary head coach John Calipari.

Two Panthers, Rob Martin (30) and Cam’Ron Fletcher (25), combined for 55 points, but Darius Acuff Jr. of Arkansas trumped everyone by dropping 36.

Arkansas will face the winner of No. 1 Arizona and No. 9 Utah State in the Sweet 16.

High Point’s victory over Wisconsin on Thursday marked their first ever in March Madness after making the tournament last year for the first time.

  • Vanderbilt’s Hail Mary shot misses by narrowest of margins as Nebraska advances to Sweet 16 in epic fashion

No. 5 Vanderbilt was a mere inch away from maybe the most historic shot in program history until the ball did everything but drop.

Tyler Tanner’s beyond-half-court heave to send the Commodores to the Sweet 16 went in-and-out to give No. 4 Nebraska a 74-72 win and advance to the Sweet 16.

Nebraska entered the half with a 39-32 lead and led by as many as 10 at one point, but Vanderbilt rallied back to lead by five with 5:34 to go.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

The Cornhuskers then answered back with a 6-0 run to retake the lead, but Vanderbilt led 72-70 with less than a minute to go after a Tanner layup, which gave him 27 points on the night.

Those, however, were Tanner’s and Vanderbilt’s final points of the game. Rienk Mast tied the game with a putback with 37 seconds left, and Vanderbilt’s Chandler Bing missed a shot to take a late lead.

Nebraska then ran down the court, and Pryce Sandfort found Braden Frager, who made a contested layup to take the lead with 2.2 seconds left.

VILLANOVA COACH TURNS HEADS AFTER ‘JOKE’ THAT HE WOULD ‘FIRE MY STAFF’ DURING MARCH MADNESS LOSS

Vanderbilt called a timeout, and the inbound went to the red-hot Tanner, who clearly had the groove of his shot. He pulled up from half-court, but the shot was a striking image of Gordon Hayward’s from the 2010 national title game against Duke – off the backboard, then the rim, then out.

Quite literally everybody, even the heavy-Nebraska crowd in Oklahoma City, was in disbelief, but the party was on for the red after shock and relief quickly turned into celebration.

It’s Nebraska’s first time ever making the Sweet 16 after eight prior appearances without getting there. In fact, this year is the first time they even won a game in the tournament.

Four Cornhuskers finished in double-digits, with Sandfort and Frager each putting up 15. Nebraska will face the winner of No. 1 Florida and No. 9 Iowa.

Eina Kwon and her husband were on their way to work at their Japanese restaurant, Aburiya Bento House, on June 13, 2023, when they stopped at a red light at an intersection around 11:15 a.m.

Goosby allegedly sprinted toward the driver’s side window of their white Tesla with a gun raised.

After firing all the bullets he had in the gun into the victims’ car, he turned and ran from the scene, » prosecutors wrote in court papers, noting that Goosby got rid of the weapon. « The defendant’s actions left a family and community shattered. »

Officers later located Goosby, who put his hands in the air and said, « I did it! I did it! » according to court documents.

Then-Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell described the broad daylight shooting as an « unimaginable tragedy. »

CALIFORNIA MAN PAROLED UNDER ‘YOUTHFUL OFFENDER’ PROVISION FOR 2 MURDERS KILLS AGAIN LESS THAN A YEAR LATER

Goosby was prohibited from owning a firearm due to his criminal record in Illinois. He allegedly used a stolen gun during the shooting, officials said.

Fox 13 reported that the King County court system said a not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity ruling means Goosby « admits that he committed the crimes and agrees to commitment in a state psychiatric hospital. »

Experts for both the defense and prosecution evaluated Goosby and determined he was legally insane at the time of the shooting, leading the court to permit the plea, the outlet reported.

Goosby’s future release would depend on approval from multiple state and court entities, the station added.

  • Dead passenger allegedly stored in heated galley for 13 hours on British Airways flight, ‘foul smell’ reported

Air travelers are reacting with shock after a dead passenger’s body was reportedly stored in a heated galley for more than 13 hours on a long-haul flight, according to reports.

A woman in her 60s died about an hour after takeoff on British Airways Flight BA32 from Hong Kong to London last Sunday, but the pilots continued on to Heathrow Airport instead of turning back, The Sun reported.

A source told the outlet that the Airbus A350-1000’s galley had a heated floor, and by the end of the flight « there were claims that a foul smell was present » in that area.

SOUTHWEST FLIGHT DIVERTED AFTER PASSENGER SCARE AS SECURITY INCIDENTS RATTLE US AIRPORTS

« Obviously, the family with the woman were distraught, and so were the crew, » the source said. « Many wanted to return to Hong Kong. But, to put it bluntly, if a passenger has already died, that is not viewed as an emergency. »

British Airways told Fox News Digital that its crew followed all procedures.

« A customer sadly passed away on board and our thoughts are with their family and friends at this difficult time, » the airline said. « We are supporting our crew and all procedures were correctly followed. »

FEDS INVESTIGATE ALARMING NEAR MISS BETWEEN ALASKA AIRLINES JET, FEDEX PLANE AT BUSY NEWARK AIRPORT

A source told The Sun that a discussion took place about what to do with the body, with the crew rejecting a request from the flight deck to lock it in the plane’s bathroom.

« So they had to isolate the body, wrap it in materials, and move it to a galley at the rear of the plane, » the source said, adding that the area had a heated floor.

The outlet said that once the plane landed last Sunday, police asked the 331 passengers on board to stay in their seats for roughly 45 minutes while they investigated the onboard death.

British Airways did not receive a formal complaint regarding the incident, but The Sun reported that some passengers took time off work to recover from the ordeal.

  • Trump administration urges judge to dissolve injunction blocking Abrego Garcia’s deportation to Liberia

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday urged a judge to dissolve the injunction that keeps the Trump administration from detaining Kilmar Abrego Garcia again so he can quickly be deported to Liberia.

« Dissolution is also warranted because the Court’s Memorandum Order failed to acknowledge that the Court’s own prior injunction against removal is the sole impediment to Petitioner’s prompt removal, » the DOJ wrote in a court filing obtained by Fox News Digital. « The Court cannot both impose the impediment that delays removal and consequently prolongs detention and, at the same time, hold that the resulting detention is impermissibly prolonged. »

It added, « Any attempt by this Court to permanently enjoin the government from exercising its authority to remove the Petitioner from this country is in direct contradiction to established judicial norms, and a clear error of law. »

The administration deported Abrego Garcia, who they claim is a member of MS-13, a year ago to a prison in his native El Salvador, but he was returned to the U.S. in June to face human smuggling charges in Tennessee related to a 2022 traffic stop despite at first saying the administration had no power to bring him back.

His Lawyers deny he is a member of MS-13.

US JUDGE VOWS TO RULE ‘SOON’ ON ABREGO GARCIA’S FATE AFTER MARATHON HEARING

He was released from detention in December on the grounds that the Trump administration had not obtained the final notice of removal order that is needed to deport him to a third country.

Abrego Garcia, 31, has become a flash point in the national immigration debate since last March, when he was deported to El Salvador in violation of a 2019 court order in what Trump administration officials acknowledged was an « administrative error. »

The Supreme Court later ruled that the administration had to work to bring him back to the U.S.

JUDGE ORDERS MIGRANT DEPORTED IN ‘ERROR’ FREE FROM ICE CUSTODY WITH CRIMINAL CASE LOOMING

He has pleaded not guilty on the human smuggling charges and is seeking dismissal of the charges on the grounds of vindictive and selective prosecution.

The 2019 court order prevents Abrego Garcia from being deported to El Salvador after an immigration judge determined he faced danger from a gang that had threatened his family. He immigrated to the U.S. illegally as a teenager and has been under the supervision of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Last month, U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis agreed to convert her previous emergency order blocking ICE from immediately re-detaining Abrego Garcia into a longer-term form of injunctive relief sought by his lawyers.

She said that the Trump administration failed to provide the court with any « good reason to believe » that they plan to remove Abrego Garcia to a third country in the « reasonably foreseeable future. » Instead, she said, they « made one empty threat after another to remove him to countries in Africa with no real chance of success. »

Abrego Garcia has said he’s willing to be sent to Costa Rica, but Acting Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons said he will instead be removed to Liberia.

Abrego Garcia’s attorney said in December Abrego was willing to leave for Costa Rica immediately, and that the country had given him asylum status months ago.

The government’s « persistent refusal to acknowledge Costa Rica as a viable removal option, their threats to send Abrego Garcia to African countries that never agreed to take him, and their misrepresentation to the Court that Liberia is now the only country available to Abrego Garcia, all reflect that whatever purpose was behind his detention, it was not for the ‘basic purpose’ of timely third-country removal, » Xinis said in December.

The administration asked the judge to rule on its request to have the injunction dissolved by April 17.

Fox News Michael Sinkewicz, Louis Casiano, Breanne Deppisch, and Jake Gibson contributed to this report.

  • Stephen A Smith blasts Trump for Army-Navy executive order: ‘Who the hell does he think he is?’

President Donald Trump signed the « Preserving America’s Game » executive order on Friday, which promises to keep the annual Army-Navy game a standalone event during the college football season.

Trump signed the order during the Midshipmen’s visit to the White House on Friday to celebrate their Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy victory, which is given to either Army, Navy or Air Force if one of the teams goes 2-0 against the other opponents during the season.

However, Stephen A. Smith was not fond of the move.

« It’s stuff like this from the President of the United States that pisses me off. And he’s sticking his nose in places that I don’t believe the President of the United States should be sticking their nose in, » Smith said during his Friday afternoon SiriusXM show on Mad Dog Sports Radio, via Awful Announcing.

« Who the hell does this man think he is? Every single time I try to be fair and fair-minded to this president, he pulls some BS like this. It really pisses me off. It really pisses me off. Who the hell does he think he is? If the Army-Navy game is on NBC, FOX and CBS should be excluded from having its own content on its networks? Because the president issued some executive order that he doesn’t want anything competing with Army-Navy, that he wants the focus of the sports world on Army-Navy. Well, what if they don’t want that? What if they don’t want to watch Army-Navy? Who the hell is he to tell the broadcast world, ‘Nah, not at this time.’

« Who the hell does he think he is?! It’s that kinda BS that’s got our country in a tizzy right now. That right there. Because you overstepping your damn bounds. Don’t you got enough things to be focused on? Now you trying to tell us what damn football games we should watch?! Who the hell does he think he is?! »

FLORIDA STATE KICKER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED BATTERY ON LAW ENFORCEMENT DURING SPRING BREAK

With the current College Football Playoff schedule, the Army-Navy game currently sits between conference championship weekend and the first weekend of the 12-team playoff. However, potential expansion could lead to earlier games. The Army-Navy game is set to be broadcast on CBS until 2038.

Navy defeated Army in a thrilling 17-16 victory to win the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy in December during a historic season that saw the program finish 11-2, marking the team’s first back-to-back 10-win seasons in program history.

« The annual Army-Navy game is truly one of the most special occasions in all of sports, but in recent years, the College Football Playoff expansion has encroached on this sacred four-hour time slot traditionally reserved for Army-Navy, » the president said during his speech Friday. « I’m going to sign an executive order to ensure that the second Saturday in December is preserved exclusively. Nobody’s playing football – not Ohio State against Notre Dame, not LSU against Alabama – nobody’s going to play football for four hours during that very special time of the year in December. It’s preserved forever for the Army-Navy game. »

Earlier this month, Trump held a roundtable to try to combat the effects of NIL in college sports.

Trump joked that the ramifications of signing the executive order might result in a lawsuit.

« Of course, we’ll probably get sued at some point. We will get sued, but we win those suits, and we’ll win this one. »

Trump first signaled his intentions to sign the executive order in a Truth Social post in January, saying at the time, « This incredible Tradition is now at risk of being pushed aside by more College Playoff Games, and Big TV Money. NOT ANYMORE! »

  • FBI raids Hollywood mansion in $17.4M alleged mortgage scam targeting seniors, 11 arrested including Iranian

FBI agents raided a Hollywood mansion early Thursday, arresting a suspect in pajamas in a raid tied to an alleged $17.4 million mortgage fraud scheme targeting elderly homeowners.

Prosecutors said the scheme resulted in about $6 million in actual losses, with 11 suspects — including an Iranian and Azerbaijani national — accused of stealing victims’ identities, taking out mortgages on their homes and pocketing the cash.

During the raid, part of Operation Hard Money, agents surrounded the home and took the suspect into custody after he walked out with his hands up before being handcuffed, FOX 11 reported. Several luxury vehicles were parked outside, and the property appeared recently remodeled, the outlet reported.

FBI RAIDS HOME AND OFFICES OF MAJOR LOS ANGELES SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT

« There is no shortage of massive fraud occurring within California, » Bill Essayli, first assistant United States attorney, said in a statement. « Today’s operation represents one of many sophisticated schemes used by criminals — including foreign nationals — to defraud U.S. citizens and taxpayers of their hard-earned property. Those days are over under this U.S. Department of Justice. These defendants will be facing significant prison time for their charged conduct. »

« Massive alleged fraud takedown in California from @FBILosAngeles — well done, » FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X in response to the raid.

All defendants except one are charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and multiple counts of wire fraud, while several also face aggravated identity theft and money laundering charges, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California said.

Authorities allege the group targeted elderly homeowners between 2021 and 2023, stealing personal information and using it to create fake IDs and email accounts to impersonate victims. They then applied for high-value « hard money » loans backed by the victims’ properties, submitting falsified documents including bank statements, rental agreements and medical records.

I’VE WORKED THOUSANDS OF MONEY LAUNDERING CASES — FRAUD IS A NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT

The suspects allegedly used fake identities and shell accounts to funnel the proceeds, which were wired to accounts under their control.

Authorities said the scheme involved properties across Los Angeles — including Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Westwood and Chinatown.

The defendants are Nazaret Chakrian, 65; Arnold Moradians, 57; Avetis Hekimyan, 38; Ross Tarkhan, 32; Tigran Hovanesian, 56; Armen Vardevaryan, 55; Craig Higdon, 66; Helen Spangler, 62; Victor Lossi, 43; Marine Sarkisian, 49; and Cynthia Borjas, 51.

Two of the suspects are foreign nationals — Moradians, an Iranian national who has an outstanding warrant for removal from the United States, and Sarkisian, an Azerbaijani national and green card holder, prosecutors said.

If convicted, the defendants face up to 20 years in federal prison for each fraud and money laundering count, along with a mandatory two-year consecutive sentence for aggravated identity theft.

The case is being investigated by the FBI-led Eurasian Organized Crime Task Force alongside IRS Criminal Investigation, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and local law enforcement agencies.

  • Hollywood outlet slammed for saying Chuck Norris’ politics, ‘cop agenda’ overshadowed his legacy

A major Hollywood media outlet is seeing backlash online from top Republicans and conservatives after publishing a column on Friday arguing that Chuck Norris’ film legacy is overshadowed by politics.

The Variety opinion piece argues that many of the roles Norris played throughout his career were centered on a lone ranger who takes the law into his own hands, which is difficult to perceive in today’s tumultuous political climate.

The headline said, « Chuck Norris Was a Great Action Star — but Politics May Overshadow His Legacy. » « In nearly every Norris movie, he’s muscling into a foreign land or othered community, kicking a bunch of a–, completing his mission and hitting the road — or neutralizing the new threat that came into his town, » the Variety article stated.

« An all-American loner has to gun down outsiders who threaten his way of life, or go to another country to make sure justice is done. »

« Chuck Norris was an action legend and a great American. « Variety » is an example of why so many people detest the media, » Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis responded on X.

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., also weighed in, blasting the outlet in a sharply worded response posted to X on Friday.

ACTOR AND MARTIAL ARTIST CHUCK NORRIS DEAD AT 86

« Chuck Norris spent an enormous amount of time celebrating what was great about America with those who kept us free and safe. And you showed in your arrogance why we hate Hollywood. »

Fox News Digital has reached out to Variety for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Norris died Thursday and is remembered as an action star of the 1970s and 1980s, starring in films TV shows « Delta Force » and « Lone Wolf McQuade. » He was 86.

Regarding Norris’ 1990s-era TV show « Walker, Texas Ranger, » Variety said that « the black-and-white, right-and-wrong simplicity of ‘Walker’ is cop-aganda nonetheless. »

Variety further contended that Norris’ roles are being remembered in a different, darker light within today’s divided political climate.

CHUCK NORRIS’ DEATH INSPIRES TRIBUTES AS SYLVESTER STALLONE, JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME LEAD HOLLYWOOD REACTIONS

« …His roles were part of a body of work used to show American strength, might and the pernicious attraction of taking the law into one’s own hands — something that seems less fun in a year in which our country is funneling money into bombing Iran and ICE agents are acting like one-man militias. »

Variety columnist William Earl suggested that, given the moral division plaguing the nation, it is easier to see Norris’ characters as justification for « fringe conspiracy » rather than a good-cop moral standing.

He added, « But it gives me hope for the future, where outrageous law enforcement and one-man militias are fantasy, only in a world seen on a VHS copy of 1985’s « Invasion U.S.A. » Then we can be thankful it’s just a movie. »

The piece garnered swift and pointed criticisms, with prominent conservatives knocking the publication for its critique of a Hollywood icon so soon after his death.

« This is total trash. Absolute garbage, bulls—, propaganda nonsense, leftist ideology trash. Screw you Variety, » @mattvanswol wrote.

  • Swalwell plays up athletic credentials in effort to blunt DHS sweeps at World Cup

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., invoked his collegiate soccer career while introducing a package of bills to prevent immigration enforcement behavior in and around World Cup sites this June.

More than a dozen American cities will be hosting World Cup soccer matches, including East Rutherford, N.J., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington – while three Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee want to prevent what they call racial and linguistic profiling that would instill fear in fans.

« How can our country host the World Cup while deporting visiting fans from around the world? » Swalwell said in a statement introducing his « Safe Passage to the World Cup Act. »

« As a former Division I soccer player, I know what an honor it is to host the world’s biggest sporting event.

SENATE DEMS REFUSING TO BUDGE ON DHS FUNDING MAY CAUSE HEADACHE FOR WORLD CUP TRAVELERS

Swalwell, an Iowa native, played goalkeeper in Division I soccer at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.

The future liberal firebrand dreamed of being a professional soccer star himself, but ended up breaking his thumbs, which eventually sidelined his prospective career.

After transferring to the University of Maryland in College Park, he interned in neighboring Washington, D.C. for Rep. Ellen Tauscher, a California Democrat.

« That was a turning point. I knew I didn’t want to play soccer anymore; I wanted to be in Washington, » Swalwell told Diablo Magazine in 2013 in a story now facsimiled on his official congressional website.

Swalwell’s bill would ban federal DHS funding from being used for civil immigration enforcement activities on public transit or at terminals from June 11 to July 19 in any city hosting a FIFA match or festival.

GERMAN SOCCER TEAM WERDER BREMEN CANCELS MINNESOTA TRIP OVER TRUMP IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT: REPORT

The bill does provide a carveout for « hot pursuit » of suspects presenting an « imminent risk to public safety. »

« Our priority should be to showcase our best—not have police commandeering buses, trains, and public spaces, » Swalwell said in a statement.

« This bill ensures ICE cannot turn everyday public transportation into a place of terror. It is shameful for DHS to trap people with political stunts. »

« We are better than this, » he said.

Swalwell sits on the House Homeland Security Committee’s Task Force on Enhancing Security for Special Events in the United States.

That panel’s top Democrat, Rep. Nellie Pou of New Jersey, represents the area around the New York Giants’ stadium, where matches will be held.

Pou crafted a companion bill called the Save the World Cup Act, which bans immigration enforcement near matches or festivals themselves – and would enforce measures to ensure parking lots and fan midways are not encroached upon by ICE enforcement sweeps to « deter attendance and indiscriminately target communities. »

GOP WARNS DEMOCRATS’ DHS SHUTDOWN COULD JEOPARDIZE WORLD CUP SECURITY

« With fewer than 90 days until kickoff, the World Cup should bring the world together and not leave families wondering if ICE agents will be waiting outside stadiums, » Pou said in a statement, adding that she asked ICE Director Todd Lyons if he would assure her of no such enforcement — but that he declined.

A third task force member – Rep. LaMonica McIver, D-N.J., — still faces charges over an alleged assault on a federal agent outside Delaney Hall in her hometown of Newark.

The case remains active as of January, according to the New Jersey Monitor, which reported that Biden-appointed Judge Jamel Semper allowed two of three counts to proceed as McIver appeals.

McIver’s companion bill would prohibit state grant programs for being used for civil immigration enforcement near World Cup game sites.

« Fans from around the world and across the country will travel to New Jersey to watch the World Cup, and keeping them safe means protecting them from DHS attempting to turn this global event into a dragnet for the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda, » she said in a statement.

« We fought to secure millions of federal dollars so soccer fans can enjoy the biggest game in the world—they should not be intimidated by immigration enforcement. I’m introducing this bill to draw a clear line that makes sure state and local law enforcement can actually focus on keeping fans safe. »

A DHS spokesperson said the agency still plans to work with local and federal partners to secure the World Cup matches « in line with federal law and the U.S. Constitution as we do with every major sporting event, while showcasing American greatness to the entire world. »

« International visitors who legally come to the United States for the World Cup have nothing to worry about, » DHS said. « What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S.— full stop. »

The spokesperson called speculation in the legislative package « ill informed » and that foreign visitors must still be « proactive » and have all their forms filed to Washington and their personal documents in order ahead of time to ensure a smooth travel experience.

  • DHS shutdown blows past one-month mark as Dems push to carve out ICE from any new funding deal

As a partial government shutdown blows past the one-month mark, Democrats are demanding lawmakers shrink the size of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) funding lapse — while leaving out the agency at the heart of Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in their view, can stay shut down.

« We already said we’d open everything in the department except ICE, so the answer is yes, » Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., said when asked about partial funding for DHS.

« Republicans won’t agree because they’re trying to hold the security of the country hostage. »

SCHUMER, DEMS AGAIN BLOCK DHS FUNDING, FORCE STATE OF THE UNION SHOWDOWN

His position was echoed by Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif.

« We need to fund every aspect of it other than ICE. We’re going to fight on the ICE funding. I mean, they already have $75 billion, » Khanna said, noting that ICE itself already received funding through Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

In light of those appropriations, Republicans believe Democrats have assumed an unsustainable position as they continue to shoot down efforts to fund DHS in its entirety.

« They’re not interested in reopening, right? Their whole thing is: ‘Okay, we’re doing a shutdown to go out there and affect ICE and Border Patrol.’ But ICE and border patrol are the ones that are not even affected by this shutdown. They’re funded by the One Big, Beautiful Bill that passed previously, » Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., said.

« How long do I foresee Democrats lying to their base? Forever, » Mast added.

Calls to implement the partial funding stance have grown louder since the shutdown first began.

KRISTI NOEM’S FIRING FAILS TO SWAY DEMOCRATS AS DHS SHUTDOWN DRAGS ON

Funding for DHS originally lapsed on Feb. 14 when Democrats refused to advance spending legislation for DHS that didn’t also include a set of demands to reform ICE. Among other changes, Democrats have conditioned their support on a ban on masks for ICE agents, stiffer warrant requirements for apprehending suspects in public and a ban on roaming patrols.

Republicans have rebuffed the demands, arguing they would handcuff President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement goals.

Republicans need at least seven Democrats to reach the 60-vote threshold to break a filibuster in the Senate, where they hold just 53 seats.

The standoff has overlapped with a series of domestic attacks, raising alarm among Republicans that DHS’ closure may be reducing the country’s preparedness to counter similar threats.

A vehicle-ramming at a synagogue in Michigan, a university shooting in Virginia, the detonation attempts in New York and another shooting in Texas have left members like Seth Magaziner, D-R.I., joining calls to pass non-ICE DHS funding.

‘YOU CAN CRY ABOUT IT’: TEMPERS FLARE IN SENATE AS DHS SHUTDOWN DEBATE ERUPTS, STALEMATE DIGS DEEPER

« If it takes more time to negotiate those changes to ICE, then the right thing to do is to fund the rest of DHS, TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, counterterrorism, all of that, while we continue to negotiate over ICE, » Magaziner said.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said he has also joined that position.

« Ready, willing, and eager to approve funding for TSA, for FEMA, and for the Coast Guard through the separate bill that we’ve offered and Republicans have rejected. There’s an easy solution here, » Blumenthal said.

A Kansas man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a woman in an unprovoked attack at a park in Olathe, authorities said.

Kwan Noble Trezvant, 27, was arrested following a report Thursday of an armed disturbance that left a 38-year-old woman, identified in court documents as Jamie Trumpp, with critical injuries, the Olathe Police Department said.

Police said they responded at 12:06 p.m. near the 1000 block of North Ridgeview Road and found the woman suffering from stab wounds.

The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office alleged in its complaint that Trezvant cut Trumpp with a knife in an act of attempted first-degree murder, defined as attempting to « unlawfully, feloniously, intentionally and with premeditation kill a human being. »

Trezvant appeared in court Friday, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.

  • New video shows Justin Timberlake struggling through sobriety tests during Hamptons stop

Newly released police video shows Justin Timberlake struggling through field sobriety tests during a 2024 Hamptons traffic stop that led to his arrest on suspicion of drunk driving.

Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 after police suspected him of driving drunk. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired and received community service, along with issuing a public apology, as part of a plea agreement.

The roughly eight-hour footage shows the « Can’t Stop the Feeling! » singer’s initial stop after Sag Harbor police said he ran a stop sign, veered out of his lane and exited his BMW smelling of alcohol.

After being pulled over, an officer asked Timberlake why he was in town. He responded, « I’m on a world tour. »

« Doing what? » the officer asked.

The body camera video shows Timberlake struggling to follow instructions as officers asked him to walk heel-to-toe in a straight line and stand on one leg.

As officers explained the instructions, he apologized, telling them, « My heart’s racing. »

    « I’m a little nervous, » Timberlake said.

Timberlake was later informed at the police station that he would be held overnight, prompting him to say, « I’m going to be here all night? You guys are wild, man. »

Earlier this month, Timberlake sued Sag Harbor Village and the police department in an attempt to block the release of body camera footage.

In a petition seeking to block the release of the footage, Timberlake’s legal team said it was notified March 1 of the police department’s intention to respond to a request under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) to release the body camera footage, which would include redactions for medical and security reasons.

Timberlake argued the footage « contains personally identifying information and private details that are not germane to any law enforcement action of public concern and that would not otherwise be visible to the public but for the presence and recording of law enforcement officers. »

On Friday, however, Timberlake’s lawyers said in a joint filing with the village that the video « does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy » under state law and agreed to its release.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Timberlake’s attorney for comment.
